Words Aren't Needed

It is Duen's birthday and both Duen's and Bohn's squads were gathered at the bar they usually go to. Bohn and Duen are seated next to each other and looking at each other lovingly while all of their friends were bickering about nothing in particular. The only one who was silent as always was Ram. He was quietly observing how him and his friends have come a long way from the beginning of the first year in university and how his good friend Duen and 'ex well known player' Bohn are one of the popular couples of the university. To be honest Ram didn't like Bohn at first, it may be because he is very protective over his naive friend Duen or because of the senior's well known player image or both. But after all these months of observing Bohn's behavior and how well he took care of Duen, Ram was less worried about Duen being heartbroken and also he actually started accepting and respecting Bohn more.

Now the one thing in his head that's stressing him is P King, not in a bad way though. Ram is confused on why he smiles whenever he gets a message from this said senior or when he randomly thinks about him. Ram is a person who lets very few people to be close to him and has strong walls built around him but P King managed to break down his walls from day one. He himself doesn't understand why he lets this senior have his way with him when Ram has never had trouble pushing people out of his life. Or he knows but is denying it. "Ram come on, help me please. Two against one isn't fair." Phu's cry for help to save him from the teasing duo Ting and Tang snapped him out of his maze of thoughts.

What Ram did not notice was King's worried expression when he saw Ram frowning unconsciously at his thoughts. King instantly knew that the junior has something that's stressing him stuck in his thoughts. Initially he thought he was interested in this junior because he was unique and different but after sometime King himself was not sure anymore. Even if it's true that anything that's unique catches King's attention it never holds his attention for so long. He subconsciously likes to spend time with Ram and talk to him although the junior rarely replies for whatever he said. Well King was used to not getting any responses since he talks to his plants every single day expecting neither a response nor a reaction. What surprised King the most is that he remembered the lessons which Ram had trouble understanding from the few tutoring sessions and prepared personalized hand written notes to help him study. Honestly King has never bothered to do this to anyone, not even to his closest friends.

After an hour or so Ram looked around the table to see many of his friends and the seniors drunk except Mek, Bohn, King and himself. When his eyes landed on King their eyes met for a second or two but Ram quickly looked away at his untouched cup of beer. He has been avoiding King the entire day since seeing his bright captivating smile and caring eyes are not helping how he is feeling inside and confusing him even more. But the one thing he knows now is that his heart feels much lighter just after seconds worth of eye contact with his favorite senior. Ram still felt King's lingering gaze on him which made his heart beat rapidly so he tried to look at anything and everything except for the one person his heart is telling him to look at. Finally he fixed his eyes on Duen and Ting Ting who are having a great time drunk dancing and on Mek and Boss who are trying to Waltz, trying being the highlighted word, it was more like Mek holding up drunk Boss from falling.

Regardless of the dance floor being entertaining taken over by his friends Ram needed some fresh air and some alone time to ease his mind. So he told Phu "I'll be back" to which he just earned a drunk "hmmmmm" in return. Ram started walking aimlessly down the dimly lighted street purely focusing on his confused feelings about King and how he should reciprocate to it.

"Ai Ning!! Where do you think you are headed?" The voice of the senior which he so badly wanted to hear but avoid at the same time pulled him back to reality just to find himself staring at the dead end of a dark alley. Ram swiftly turned around to look for the source of the voice and there was King standing a few steps behind Ram looking at him worriedly. King walked a few steps closer to Ram so that he can clearly read the junior's expressions. "Do you remember I told you that you can come to me anytime if something is bothering you?" Ram just looked away and thought "I'm scared P. I'm scared that you might not talk to me like this after I tell you what's on my mind" as a respond to what King asked. "Are you worried about Duen?" King assumed that Ram's silence as an agreement to his question so he continued "Don't worry Nong, Bohn might have been a player but he sincerely loves Duen now. I know that you think of him as bad person but honestly he is a person who would do anything and everything for the people he loves, may it be his family or friends. So stop worrying, your friend is in good hands." Even though Ram was worrying about something completely different, hearing King speak with such care and comfort made Ram feel at ease. He just nodded at King indicating that he understood what he said.

King was actually relieved that the junior's frown has now been erased and his face has been taken over by his usual foreign handsomeness. "You didn't allow Bohn to date Duen initially right?" Ram didn't know why King was asking this but it was true he didn't like Bohn dating his friend since he thought Bohn was a player and a person with a bad attitude so he just nodded his head. "Then would you have allowed if it was not Bohn? What if Duen wanted to date some else? What if it was...... me?" King asked half jokingly but also with a curiosity to know what Ram thinks of him. "If Ram didn't allow Bohn to date Duen because he thought he was a bad person then what does he think about me?" King thought to himself. Almost immediately after King spoke the word "me", he heard the junior's "NO!" loud and clear.

King was extremely shocked not just because that was the loudest of the times he has heard the junior speak but also because Ram looked pissed off. For a minute they were just looking a each with their expressions contradicting each other neither of them saying anything. King was the first to break the silence with his painful chuckle and said softly "I'm sorry I didn't know that I was portrayed as such a bad character in your mind". Seeing the pain in his senior's face Ram felt his heart wrenching, he yearned to hug King and tell him to forgive him but as soon as King finished talking he turned around to leave, not being able to stay there any longer.

Even before King took two steps away from Ram, he was stopped but by familiar hands wrapping around his wrist. When King tried to turn around to look at the junior holding his hand, he was halted by his words "Please don't turn around P. I wanted to tell you something for awhile now but I was too scared and confused. The reason why I said "No" before was not because that you are a bad person but because..... I... like you and I wouldn't want the person I love dating someone else. I completely understand if you don't like me back but please don't be mad at me and please don't stop talking to me". King heard Ram's voice crack at the end. He wanted to look at his junior and give his reply to his face so King turned around just to come face to face with a Ram who was red as crimson. Ram was not meeting his eyes so King had to lift his chin up so as to make him meet his eyes.

The first thing Ram saw after his confession was King's bright smile directed towards him which never fails to assure Ram that everything's going to be okay. "Ai Ning, have I ever stopped talking to you? In fact I'm the one who normally has one sided conversations with you. And do you think I would have been so interested in you without actually liking you. I wanted tell you all this after you were comfortable with being around but since you like me too... Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Ram was startled after hearing what his senior had to say but he knew his answer clearly.

Ram gave King one of his rare charming smiles, love evident in his eyes.Ram closed the gap between him and his P and engulfed King's lips with his. Even though it only lasted few seconds that was enough for King to understand the meaning behind it. But he wanted to tease his Ning so he said "I didn't hear anything. Can you say it a bit louder?" Ram was not someone to get teased easily so he used this as an opportunity to wrap his arms around his senior's waist and pushed him to wall and kissed him passionately. Although King didn't expect this outcome he very much liked it. He ran his hands over Ram's muscular arms and entwined his hands with his junior's hair and slightly tugged on it to which Ram responded by biting King's lower lip with a low growl. After which seemed like an eternity of pleasure they broke apart still panting for air. Still out of breath, Ram said hoarsely "In case you still didn't hear loud enough, I would love to be your boyfriend P King".
