As I open my heavy eyes, i see all of my friends surrounding me. "S-Sophie?" I ask , my throat dry. "I'm here." A small but relieved voice says. "What- what happened to me?" I ask. "You manifested." Grady responded. "Do you guys know what?" I ask.

Sophie's POV

I glanced at Arabella, not sure if I should tell Keefe. Elwin told us not to say anything rash, so that Keefe doesn't spark his new ability, and cause a mess.

"It a complicated situation," Elwin said, from his workstation in the back. "You never know what could be the wrong thing to say that could make you so mad that your ability would get out if control."

"Oh," Keefe mumbled. "I guess I wont know until you guys tell me."

"Guess not." Arabella smirked. Keefe responded by sticking his tongue out.

"Very mature, Keefe. I love to see my children acting like siblings," A voice called from the door.

The four of us, Elwin included, turned to look over at the door. Lord Cassius was leaning against the doorframe like some 1950 villain from a comic book.

"What are you doing here?" Keefe demanded, "Who invited him?" He glances at first Arabella, then Elwin, and me. All of us shake our heads.

"Oh, maybe you forgot about this." Lord Cassius pulled out a Spyball. (thats what its called, right?) Keefe groans.

"So you always spy on me. What if I don't want to be spied on?" Keefe responded.

"You can go to the Council and tell them." Elwin piped up from the back.
Lord Cassius glares at him.

"But you wont? Right?" Lord Cassius sneers, "Because this isn't mine." He paused, "I believe that it belongs to Miss Foster." I gasp.

"How did you get it?" I asked.

"I found it while I was over on a Black Swan assignment, and I figured it may be useful." I wince. I had forgotten to put it away.

"Sorry." I whispered to Keefe.

"It's fine," He gritted out through his teeth. "Will you just go now?"

"Fine, fine, all I wanted was to see my children, but they hate me too much so I am going to leave." Lord Cassius drawled. He turned, and walked out the door."
