Chapter 1: I Just Want To Lift

First I'd like to shout out & thank DeeNOss who's a severely underrated writer who gave me the confidence do this, so without further ado that's get this party started!

We first see Ryan inside of the weight room of Belle Reve Penitentiary about to work out alongside other criminals. Now Ryan wouldn't call any of the other inmates friends but he would occasionally make small talk with some of them because either they would come up to him or he had done everything else that you can think of to pass the time while in prison so having conversation with some of the other inmates was his only option. But today Ryan would be looking for a workout buddy.

Ryan: Ugh, damn power inhibiting collar! How can someone with superspeed be the last one to the weight room? Now all of the stations I wanted to do today are filled up.

Ryan scans over the entire weight room to see Professor Ojo & Professor Ivo doing incline.

Ryan: Makes sense they're both professors.

Monsieur Mallah & Ultra-Humanite throwing medicine balls against a wall.

Ryan: Makes sense they're both gorillas plus they're probably related.

Hook & Brick doing squats.

Ryan: I have no idea how Hook is able to hold onto the bar with that much weight on it with only one hand & a hook but I am not about to ask him.

And finally, Black Manta and Captain Boomerang doing power-cling.

Ryan: That's a real odd pairing almost like the author ran out of recognizable inmates to use?

Ryan continues to scan the weight room to see other inmates on various stations until he sees the only station left open; bench press.

Ryan: It's not like I don't like doing bench press, it just means that I will have to find & convince someone to be my spotter. But I guess it must be done if I want to get something accomplished today.

With that Ryan scanned the weight room once again to see if any of the other inmates were by themselves & luckily there were a few inmates to choose from.

Now, it was between going over & asking either The Riddler or going over to Icicle Sr. and his crew consisting of Mammoth, Captain Cold, Mister Freeze, and Blockbuster.

Ryan: I don't really feel like hearing: "Riddle me this" or "Riddle me that" so I guess I'll take my chances with Icicle Sr and company.

Ryan begins to walk up to the group & as soon as he gets close enough to ask one of them to work out Icicle Sr. speaks up.

Icicle Sr: Back off kid.

Ryan: "Back off kid?" Come on I'm in my twenties!!!

Icicle Sr: Sure ya are squirt, what the hell do you want anyway?

Ryan: Well I was wondering if one of you would like to bench with me.

Icicle Sr, Mister Freeze, Captain Cold, Mammoth, & Blockbuster all look at each other & collectively say NO! Well to be precise Icicle Sr, Mister Freeze, & Captain Cold said no while Mammoth & Blockbuster just growled at me angrily. After that I began to plead my case to them.

Ryan: Did I offend you in some way Icicle? If so, it was an icicledent.

Icicle Sr: UH?

Ryan: Come on Cap, don't give me the cold shoulder.

Captain Cold: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?

Ryan: How bout you Mister Freeze? Do I have to wait for hell to freeze over to get you to lift with me?

Mister Freeze: Aren't you a funny one.

Icicle Sr: If one of us agrees to work with you will you leave us alone?

Ryan: Yes.

Icicle Sr: Alright, Mammoth go work out with him.

Mammoth: (Annoyed growl)

Ryan: See, was that so hard Mammoth? Let's go!
