A light breeze rustled the autumn leaves of the trees. A few falling down to the ground to be crushed with the satisfying crunch of a cracking, dried leaf.
"What the hell is th?!- oh." Shrugged a tall female brown wolf, pulling out the reminisces of the leaf she had stepped on.
"Hah!" Barked a young voice from ahead of her. "Come on Compass! My legs are at least half as long as yours and you can't even beat me back to camp?" A small navy blue akita inu teased his friend.
Compass gave a small playful scoff, rolling her eyes in amusement. "Yeah yeah sure you win, Okame."
Okame curled his tail, bouncing around on his paws in celebration. Compass laughed, "and then next time, I'll actually try to beat you, Mr Beta." She pushed the Akita wolf to the side teasingly, causing the male to topple to the ground. "Short boi." She smirked at him before trotting off to her den.
"And then next time, I'll actually try to beat you, Ms Delta." Okame intimidated the brown wolf, standing up and shaking his pelt. He perked up, seeing an oddly shaped shadow. Okame trotted to it, "hello!" He barked in his usual friendly tone. The Shadow flinched and ran off, "hey! Wait!" Okame yelped, dashing after the shadow swiftly.
The shadow led him to an old forest. A familiar one. Okame looked around, trying to remember the old forest as best as he could. He spotted something on the ground, the crimson red blood of a wolf, and the tracks of a red shadow bear. And that's when the memories came flooding back.
