A/N: I put Y/N as first person view since I find it easier to write that way!
"JJ come on this isn't safe"
As I continuously tugged on my best friends worn down stripped t-shirt, I looked around at where we were. "We shouldn't be here and we both know it"
"Calm down and stop being a prissy princess" he says hopping down from the fence he was previously on. As the binoculars hung loosely around his neck he sticks his hands on his sides "it's no biggie", he grins "no biggie?!" I laugh slightly in a sarcastic tone "JJ we shouldn't be doing this, let alone without John B, Pope, Kie and Sarah". He shakes his head towards me "that's why they'll never find out" he smiles and I roll my eyes "Ms.Craine out of all people? We both know she's an axe murderer" I look up at him, he's easily a foot taller than me but I don't let it intimidate me, "Ah young Y/N-", "we're two months apart", "still," he shakes his head lightly
", I'm much wiser" he grins smugly as I roll my eyes yet again for the 50th time tonight grabbing the binoculars hiding a quick smile as I climb onto the gate. "What're we looking for again?", he looks at me dumbfounded "The grandfather-clock dude come on keep up, its worth thousands", "right right" I roll my eyes softly "and how do you know this?", now it was time for JJ to roll his eyes. Then he goes on for about 15 minutes about his shitty abusive father always talking about it. He soon realizes I'm not paying any attention to what he was saying and he chuckles softly shaking his head lightly before hopping onto the gate beside me "See anything?" he says looking at me gentlyand, as if just in queue, her lights turn off and I grin. "We are a go."Secretly there was a part of me that wanted to be there with JJ, but I was not about to boost his ego like that. There was nothing easy about this, apart from the fact that she was a blind 85 year old, she was practically on her death bed. But, I guess it makes up that she's a supposed axe murderer. I ignore JJ as we hide behind a bush looking towards the porch of Ms.Craine's creepy home as JJ blabbers on about her daughter who apparently found her fathers head that wasn't..necessarily..on his body. I look towards JJ watching him blabber for a moment before shushing him softly pushing my finger against his lips. His eyes slightly widen not expecting the sudden touch, I don't notice his now slightly blushed cheeks as I dropped my finger and looked back towards the porch, "whats our actual plan for this?". JJ grins cheekily and slowly pulls out a hidden wheelbarrow that seemed to appear out of no where. I instantly raised a brow, "you think a grandfather clock is going to fit in..that?" he looked at the wheelbarrow, him, and then the wheelbarrow again, "I can't see why not" he says confused as I shake my head lightly laughing quietly at him "well, the best time to go is, right now" I look at the porch and let JJ walk ahead slowly. I creep behind him staying low "we shouldn't b-" I quickly get cut off by JJ quickly running into the porch quietly and waving his hand softly towards me to follow him and I sigh softly realizing i'm too far in now. I follow him cautiously muttering under my breath before JJ nudges me. I look up at him, he's already looking down at me and I slowly follow my gaze to where he was pointing, and there it was.
It was big, of course, but if I didn't feel small before, I definitely did now. I groan in my head knowing there is no way that we're getting out of here alive. We creep into the house slowly and as quietly as possible nearing closer to the clock every second, flashlights in hand. I hesitantly go to the far side still crouching low, we nod at each-other silently a small mischievous smirk on JJ's face. I push softly on the weakened wood as JJ drags it softly.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, my hand is straight through the wood where there's now an unmissable hole in the clock. I stare softly at my hand through the grandfather clock and hit reach over hitting JJ's shoulder softly to get his attention. He looks over and his face goes pale. I cringe softly knowing I just lost us thousands. I turn my face away from him as he takes of his old baseball hat and runs a hand through his hair putting it back on. I slowly start to take my hand out of the wood before I feel my hand brush against some sort of fabric. I quickly yank my hand out causing JJ to jump slightly and look at me with a perplexed look on his face. I grabbed my flashlight that was previously in my back pocket and turn it on quickly as I look inside of the clock. JJ looks at me questionably "What're you doi-" he starts but i cut him off by pulling out a black duffel bag. "It wasn't the actual clock-" I zip open the bag flashing my light into it.
"-It was what was in it" JJ finished my sentence breathlessly as shock hits us. Inside the bad it wads and wads of cash. "Holy sh-" I start but before I can finish my sentence, the sound of a fire poker drumming above us echoes through the house. We look at each-other our eyes widening "Shit" JJ says as I quickly zip up the bag swinging it over my shoulder "Go! Go!!" I say whisper shouting just as we see Ms.Craine's slippers on the stairs slowly making her was downstairs "Lane is that you?" she says her voice raspy and old. We quickly scramble to our feet and run out the door it shutting loudly behind us as we laugh loudly through the night bad of cash in hand "This way quick!" JJ laughs grabbing onto my hand pulling me towards the wheelbarrow as we hear Ms.Craine call out "You've gotten away this time Lane!" her voice cracking "So she really is an axe murderer?" I laugh grinning as we hop over the fence crouching onto the ground watching her head back inside slowly.
I turn to JJ my cheeks flushed grinning widely as he turns to me the same grin of excitement on his lips. I quickly kiss his cheek and I grab the wheelbarrow that he previously threw over the fence. I hop into it the bag of money on my lap, "To Mexico?" I grin towards him, he's blushed a lot more than before and he rubs the back of his neck before quickly grabbing onto the handles of the wheelbarrow "To Mexico" he says as he pushes me in the wheelbarrow down the road we laugh through the crisp night air.
