Chapter One - Limits?

"Hey, c'mon, Nerd. Wake up."
Before I knew it, my eyes shot open to find my boyfriend shaking me awake.
"You good? I came up and found you shaking and muttering. What happened?"
His voice was soft but filled with concern.

"Oh, just a nightmare is all, I'm fine."
I shook my hands and gave an awkward smile.

"Tell me later then. Let's head downstairs. Katsu wants to spend time with us before I have to head out for the mission with Eijirou."
He pulled me up with a smirk before giving me a little shove to get us going.

"I can't believe you'll be gone for two days, you better stay safe because if i see you injured, I will personally scold you, Kacchan."
I warned, punching his shoulder lightly.

"Whatever Nerd! Let's just eat."
I quickly nodded and grinned.
"Lets Go!"

"I don't want Dad to leave!"
Katsu whined, clinging to his father's leg.

"C'mon Katsu, I'll be back on Friday, then we can go to the arcade, you, Izu, and I. How does that sound?"
Katsuki grumbled, trying to get into his 'Tough, Jerky' facade.

"Yea! But you better stay safe, y'know what pops said!"
I got up and made my way towards the two, pulling Bakugou into a warm hug.

"Listen to us, won't you? And please don't destroy anything."
He hugged back before pulling away, taking my hand and doing his casual smirk.

"Can't promise anything, Deku."
I shook my head before kissing his cheek. When I was done, I felt something squishing between Bakugou and I.
I looked down to see Katsu hugging his dad tight.
"Shit, I gotta go now, love you two. I will call you guys tonight."
He gave us a final hug before leaving with a wave, closing the door hastily and jumping into his car.

"Katsu, get ready for school, Okay? I'll be taking you to school today and Shoto will be picking you up! I have a meeting and some patrol this evening, so it will probably be around eight, does that sound good?"
I asked, watching his eyes shimmer and grow wide.

"Yeah yeah! Can we walk today?"
He questioned, beginning to skip towards his room.

"Yes, of course, just hurry up! We have twenty minutes!"

In less than five minutes he was downstairs and ready to go.

"Hey Pops?"

"Hm?"

"When do you think I will get my quirk?"
I looked down at the eight-year-old before ruffling his hair.

"Anytime now, Katsu! I promise you that!"
He skipped ahead cheerfully, groaning as the school came closer into our view.
"Have a good day in class! Stay safe!"
I waved him off and watched as some of the kids stared at us and others ran up for autographs, pictures, etc.
I guess being the son of pro heroes gets you some rep or something?

I sat down in the kitchen, enjoying the quiet Thursday night.
There were crickets chirping and bugs buzzing, wind blowing and curtains tussling.
Then there was pattering on the stairs.
"Pops! Come downstairs!!"

I smiled to myself and grabbed my notebook.
"I'll be there shortly."
He nodded and ran back downstairs, in which I followed a couple feet behind.

I heard the TV going on about a news story from last week.
'Red Riot states...'
I blocked out the rest and went to sit in the living room with Katsu.

I noticed that the room got colder and the TV was blaring.
"Pops! Dad's on the TV! Hurry up!"
I looked up from my notebook and sat it down, moving to the floor with Katsu, clearly intrigued.

'Pro Hero Ground Zero Trapped Under Stone While Red Riot Provides Coverage!'

"Is Dad ok?"
Katsu squeaked, eyes glued on the TV.
"He'll be okay, Katsu, he can hold himself up. Yeah. Yeah."
I was more or less trying to comfort myself.
We have had multiple scares, but this one started to get to me.
These particular villains had a Smoke Manipulation quirk and an Oxygen Stealing quirk.
Blinding Kirishima to give attacks from the side and block out any light or path for Katsuki to get out safely, and taking the two's oxygen to tire them and get them weak.

I found myself on my knees and my phone blowing up.
I reached for my phone and answered it, keeping my eyes on the TV.
"Midoriya? How are you holding up? I'm driving to the scene now. What's happening?"
Shoto

"I- I'm holding up to say the least. Right now he's still trapped with the villains Smoke-Bomb and Breath-Taker above. Hurry. I know they're saying Uravity is heading to the scene too."
He hummed before I heard his tires screech.

"I'm here, get to the hospital, now."
He hung up and I pulled the news up on my phone.

"Katsu, can you please get my keys, Thank you."

I sat in the hospital's waiting room, tapping my foot nervously and keeping my eyes on the TV.
Katsu was asleep and the room was buzzing with the news, gasps and whispers, all of which were fully audible.

Uravity and Shoto had got to the scene a while ago and Breath-Taker was taken down by the duo.
Red Riot and Ground Zero were still trapped in the smoke.
I watched as Shoto yelled to Uraraka.
"Uravity, up!"
The screen was black for a moment before the reporters started to holler.

"Ground Zero Still Stands! Though He Is Brutally Injured."

The waiting room cheered and Katsu awoke.
"Did Dad win?"
He asked, eyes glowing happily.

"He's still standing, Katsu. They are taking down the last villain."
He threw his fists up tiredly and smiled.
I turned my focus back to the TV.
Katsuki was talking with Shoto while on the move.
They were coming up with a plan.
Finally he was getting the idea to not be so stubborn.

Soon, we heard a loud boom from the TV and reporters cheering.
I could feel everybody's eyes on the News, Ambulances showed up quickly and almost as soon as they pulled up, Katsuki collapsed.

The cameras shifted to the villains being shoved into the police cruisers while Todoroki and Uraraka helped any victims, ignoring their own injuries.

And in less than five minutes, Bakugou and Kirishima were wheeled in on stretchers. Katsuki was weakly cursing towards the doctors, though he stopped when his eyes landed on me.
"Zuku?"
