Addison's POV

It was 1:30 in the morning, New Years Day now. Dixie and I had been walking for about half an hour. Four feet apart the whole time and not a word was spoken. I had no idea where we were going, just that I was following Dixie. We were on a sidewalk, about a mile from the Hype House. And to be quite honest, I don't remember anything.

But what I do remember, was hearing the clock hit zero, and a loud smack, and turning around to find Bryce getting up off the floor with a bloody nose. Then I blacked out. The next thing I knew, Dixie's walking three feet in front of me, hunched over. And it's been like that since.

"Um... where are we... going?" I asked, I decided to break the silence. She didn't answer. So I half jogged to catch up with her.

"Dixie, where are you take- oh my gosh." I looked at her face, where a huge red mark was circling her cheek and eye. She had a cut on her lip and her left ear was bleeding.

"A coffee shop." She whispered back at me, and looked back at the ground.

Dixie's POV

As soon as I hit Bryce in the nose, I knew I had fucked up. Big time. He got up quick and lunged at me. His hand immediately going for my throat. He had me on the ground for a good five seconds, pounding me with his right hand, until two people pulled him off of me, and lifted me up. I looked over to Addison, who had no expression on her face and where Avani was holding on to her. Charli was yelling, along with everyone else in the room, but Bryce... Bryce was screaming. Chase grabbed mine and Addison's hand and lead us over to the front door, shoving us out. "Go." Was all he said, and as he shut the door, I could see Bryce running towards us. So, I grabbed Addison's hand and bolted to first place I could think of. Unfortunately, there were no close places near the Hype House and the cars were all in the garage, so Addi and I were just walking. To a coffee shop. A small one in the middle of nowhere, where pretty much only old people go to. But it was the only place I could think to go. I had been there once before, with Charli, but that was forever ago.

It was almost 2:00 now, and Addison had tried to grab my hand twice since she asked me where we were going. But I wasn't in the mood. Talking was the last thing I wanted to do, let alone intimately hold hands with the girl I almost kissed, but didn't because I knocked her bf out. How charming.

But I knew I was coming off cold, and Addison didn't need that right now. "Hey." I stopped and turned around to look at her as we entered the coffee place's parking lot.

"Hi." She smiled weakly and I took her hand as we walked into the shop, sitting at a booth.

"What can I get for you two today?" A thick, southern bell accent spoke to us. Looking up to see an older woman taking out her note pad. She had the second most prettiest smile I had ever seen. Fist being Addison.

"Coffee." Addison said very tired.

"Yes ma'am. And for you?" She looked at me.

"Four waffles, with chocolate chips, strawberries, whipped cream and syrup. A side of bacon, eggs and grits, extra butter please, and a large, whipped coffee."

"Oh well alright then!"

"And one biscuit too." I smiled, and she smiled back.

"Well I get that right out to y'all." The lady said, and left, disappearing behind swinging, double doors.

"Wow you must be hungry." Addison smiled and played with her hair.

"Well, getting decked by some dickhead can kinda do that to ya." I said jokingly.
