Chapter IV "That was a long night"

We decide to head to sneak back in the school. We go back into the our humanities room. We clear the room then we tip over the cabinets and empty them out. While it was day time still we moved some more cabinets in there. We killed a couple zombies and barricaded the door. We lay jackets and blankets we brought in the cabinets to make it more comfortable to sleep in. It was time for the first watch. We had gotten food on our way back to the school we got some sandwiches from Winco and some chips with some milk. We all just started to talk for a while. I tune out of the conversation I was still sad about my parents then someone throws their napkin at me. I look up and Alex was getting ready to throw another one."what?" I say. "Who's having first watch?" Sam says I find him in a corner with Jillian sleeping right next to him. "Well it's midnight so you guys wanna live here for a bit longer or move?" I say standing and yawning. "Well we need supplies and energy drinks for our shifts. "Ok well we each take 2 hour shifts tonight. Who wants to go first?" There was a long silence. You heard nothing but the zombies. Mersy raised her hand ok then Sophie you take second watch I'll take third Jillian has 4 and Sam get final shift tonight." Everyone agrees. I hand Mersy my gun. "Everyone must sleep with your weapon." I say while yawning. While Mersy gets settled in taking first watch I close everyone's cabinet stopping to talk to Sophie. " I wanna say thanks for being there for me. Without my friends there with me I would be the dead." She smiles and I say night and close her cabinet. I walk over and talk to Sam who was talking to Jillian I heard giggle. He shuts her door and I walk over to his and talk to him." Thanks man I couldn't do it myself. Your my friend and I'm happy that your there for me." He nods and I close his doors. Mersy comes over and I talk to her. "You ready to stay awake for two hours?" I say. "It's nothing. Just wake Sophie up when u can't finish your shift." She nods and closes me in. Darkness. The image of them stuck in my head. Me being with them. I was tossing and turning as I was about ready to scream a hand comes over my mouth and I. Wide awake eyes open and Sophie was there I nod for her to take her hand off. " it's your shift Brandon." I get up and close my cabinet and she hands me the gun.i walk over to her bed and as I'm closing her in she says," are you ok? Cause I c an just take your shift." She says. She looked like she hasn't gotten any sleep whatsoever." Nah you need the sleep. I'll be fine." I close her in and I hear a knock coming from Jillian's cabinet I open it and she gets out. She asks what time it was. I check my phone. "It's 5.Why are you up?"I say and go sit on a table. "Can't sleep want me to stay up and we both can do this shift?"she says grabbing her blanket. "If you want to." I forgot I had my shirt off cause it got hot in the cabinet so I put a shirt back on. I stretched and yawned. "Where we gonna use the bathroom?" Jillian asks. My eyes go wide. I didn't think it through. What would we do what if we flushed and a horde of zombies come? " How long can you hold it? I ask running through plans in my head. "Oh I didn't mean now I was just wondering." I sigh in relief. "When everyone is up."I look at my watch and for the next hour and hour in a half I was working out to make me tired and fall asleep. Jillian ended up going to bed at 5:30. I woke up Sam and hand him the gun. "So what we are gonna do is we are going to all go to the bathroom at 8 and we lock up and leave." I say night and he closes the cabinet doors. Darkness. Again everything comes back im worrying about stuff now horrified. I feel a splash of water on my face and everyone's standing around me. "I'm ok I say getting up"I say. "And that's was a long night."
