"Sango, want to take a dip in the hot springs with me?"

"Yes, please. The hot springs actually sounds nice." Sango got up and joined Kagome.

InuYasha and Miroku and Shippo left the two girls to their own activities.

"I've had enough killing demons to last me a lifetime." Sango sighed when her skin met the relaxing waters of the hot spring.

"Yes. I can't agree more Sango. InuYasha has been working us to the brim the last several days. I'm honestly, getting somewhat tired from all the orders."

Kagome sighed. The hot springs was a godsend - the heat relaxing their overworked muscles and the smelling salts of the spring relaxed their minds.

"Do you think the hunt for the jewel will ever end, Sango?" Kagome asked questionably.

Kagome was rather curious to know Sango's answer. It was as if fate had interwoven their stories to meet one another.

Kagome considered Sango her sister. She couldn't imagine if she hadn't met the demon slayer where she would be. It really made a difference with another women in their traveling group.

"I'm positive it will end one day. Although I'm not sure I would want it to end. If it meant that I couldn't save Kohaku." All along Sango's face were the emotions of pain, sadness, and loneliness.

"Oh Sango. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring this up." Kagome ushered.

"No. It's alright. I'm fine." Sango lied.

"Sango. I promise we will find another way to save your brother."

Kagome promised.

And to Kagome, a promise was like a heavy weight on her shoulders, it wouldn't get lifted till it held true.

She didn't like seeing her sister sad.
And Kagome begrudged herself for making it happen.

After the hot spring, Kagome and Sango made it back to camp.

"How was the hot spring, Sango?" Miroku asked. All Miroku was given was a tattoo of a red handprint to the cheek.

InuYasha and Shippo had the correct sense to not say anything.

"Hey! Kagome! You better be in shape tomorrow. I want to slay Naraku. For that to happen we need to find more jewel shards." InuYasha yelled instead of remarking on the hot springs.

Kagome sighed in defeat. She was tired after the hot spring. But she was also tired of InuYasha's yapping orders like she was a dog sniffing out shards for praise.

She found herself in her sleeping bag.

Eyes closed without saying goodnight.

Kagome was so tired.
