Chapter 19

I am continuously fidgeting my fingers while waiting for Catherine to come and pick me up. I cannot calm down even though there is still remaining thirty minutes for me to prepare which I didn't need to because I prepared everything last night excited at the thought of us going alone for a week.

Hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupunta pero alam kong magiging masaya ako dahil kasama ko s'ya.

Nakapag paalam na rin ako sa boss ko na may isang linggo akong hindi makaka pasok dahil out of town at masaya naman s'yang tumugon.

As I was thinking I heard the honking of the car outside and I knew, it's from Catherine. My heart suddenly started to thump sa loud because of my nervousness and excitement dahil makikita ko nanaman s'ya at mahahawakan.

I stood and grabbed my backpack that is laying on my bed and proceeded to go out. Once I reached outside, I saw her inside the car smiling like a cute puppy and all the nervousness inside me faded away in an instant. I locked my front door and walk towards her car.

She opened the passenger door and I quickly hopped in. My smile was so evident and I looked like an idiot.

"You seemed so excited." She said while smiling too revealing her pearly white teeth that I really love so much to see. "Really, really excited." I responded taking my time to study her face with that smile.

"Shall we get going?" She tilted her head and started the engine of her car and looked at me. We really looked like a dumbass here who cannot hide their happiness and I wanted to laugh as hell. So I nodded and said, "We shall." We both laugh and Catherine started to drive.

I still don't have any idea where we will go and really think that she will surprise me with this. It's 10 AM in the morning and I am so sleepy because of how early I woke up early this morning at kagabi pa ay nag puyat ako dahil nag impake ako ng mga gamit ko.

Tumingin ako sa labas at alam kong matinding traffic ang mararanasan namin bago kami makarating sa destinasyon namin.

"Bakit napaka tahimik mo? May problema ba?" I looked at her after I heard her asked me and I smiled. "Nothing. Inaantok lang ako ngayon, maaga kasi ako nagising kanina."

"Is that so? Go ahead and sleep muna, malayo pa naman byahe natin, get some rest and I'll just wake you up when we get there." She reached for my hand to intertwine it and kissed the back of my hand and suddenly, I felt the warmth invading my body like I am safe and secured with her while I am asleep.

I nodded at her and smiled. She looked back at the road and I am taking my time to look at her side profile which is by the way, so perfect. I feel so lucky to be with this woman that everybody was dreaming of. Napaka swerte kong hawak ko ang kamay n'ya ngayon na hindi ko aakalaing ma aabot ko. Napaka swerte ko pala kahit papaano dahil pagkatapos ng lahat ng sakit na naranasan ko ay s'ya pala ang magiging gantimpala ko sa huli. Handa akong pa ulit-ulit makipag digmaan at masaktan basta't sakanya ang uwi ko..

I felt some warm hand tapping my cheeks lightly and calling me. As soon as my eyes adjusted at the light that the sun was giving us, I was met by the pair of brown eyes that I really love to look at.

"Hey, we are here." She whispered "Sorry to wake you up. Did you sleep well?" She asked me while her hand is still in my cheek slowly caressing it and I couldn't hold the smile that suddenly spread my lips because of the warmth that she's giving me and I slightly nod but still sleepy.

"Anong oras na?" Shit, I lost track of time. Sobrang antok na antok talaga ako kasama pa yung pagod kagabi pagkatapos ng shift ko pero medyo mataas pa naman ang araw so I guess there's nothing to be worried about except the fact na hindi pa kami kumakain since 10 AM.
