The dances feels like it is lasting a hundred years, the dances just won't end. It felt like an eternity, but finally it was my turn to perform. I got inside the circle and look around everywhere hoping to see mother. Mother is too sick what was I expecting, of course mother is no where to be found. I dance as gracefully and beautifully as I can just in case mother manage to come. I twirl around and jump gracefully just like the snows that are falling. I glance at the audience every chance that I get, every council member is here so who is watching mother. I have a very bad feeling knowing mother is left all along makes my blood boils. Remembering how slow her pulse was this morning and her being all alone, I get an eerie feeling. It made my chest felt so tight that it was suffocating to breath. My body is trembling and tears runs down my eyes before I could finish dancing the last moves my trembling body fell to the ground and all I can think about is my mother. I clasped my trembling hands together and pray whole heartedly to the winter god.
" Please watch over my mother for me, don't let her die before I get there and I promise you my life for this prayer."
I got up as fast as the can and after executing the last dance move I run back to the village as fast as I can. Upon arriving, I could see that the house was lighted, I open the door and mother is laying in the living room and she looks up at me; the man next to mother turns around and look at me too. His hair is so white and shiny just like the snow. Pale complexion, lightly roses cheeks, and lightly red lips. He wore a white pant and a long sleeve white button up jacket that is buttoned all the way up to his neck over it is a sleeveless blue cardigan that only reaches he knees, a clay color fabric tying at his waist which has a thin gold chain wrapping it.
"Who are you!"
I saw him in the crowd standing next to Lord Ma. Terrified that he might be someone the council has send to kill my mother I push him away. Mother closes her eyes as I pushed him away, I knelt down next to mother and she is breathing so slowly.
"Mother" Seeing her in such a bad condition I just couldn't control my tears. "Mother open your eyes please." The shakiness in my voice is just beyond my control.
I pick my mother up and embrace her. I never call my mother "mom" because I want to treat her with the utmost respect as I can, but seeing her like this my inner child is just crying out.
"Mom, please open your eyes!" I cried hysterically as I give my mother a gently shake.
She was just awake a second ago, why are her eyes close now. The man came and knelt down in front of mother and I but did not say a word to me.
"Is it really you?"
I look down and mother has open her eyes, I look like a mess, my eyes are red and my cheeks is all wet.
"I thought I wouldn't be able to see you again" Mother said with tears in her eyes.
"Please don't say that. You will be just fine mom."
Mother touch my face with her hand and smile at me. Her hand is cold and not the warm hand I always felt, but the softness of her hand still remains the same.
"Mom, I haven't heard you said that since you turned 10." I place my hand on top of mother's and look her in her eyes.
"I'm not going to make it past tonight." Mother said.Hearing mother say that just broke my heart into a trillion pieces.
"Please don't cry, I want to see your smile." How can I smile when my own mother is saying such sad things.
"No you will be just fine."I can see how much pain mother is in and me crying does not make her feel any better but the tears just won't stop and I just can't put on a smile.
"I love you and I wish for you to be my daughter again in the next life."
"No, you will be just fine mother." I hug mother tightly and cry a river.
"Please don't cry when I'm gone that's my last wish."
Judging mother's facial expression and the way her voice has drastically dropped, I knew it that mother will be gone any minute, and I need to say all I want to say to her before she goes.
"I'm sorry that I was not a good daughter, I'm sorry that I could not help you enough, I'm sorry that I was not able to love you enough, I'm sorry that I left you and went to the ritual, I'm sorry that you were all alone by yourself, I'm sorry for everything mom. You are the best thing that have ever been mine, in the next life I wish to be your daughter again too."
After saying all those words mother looks at me and gave me a weak smile."You have given me everything a mother would have asked for. Don't cry to much and carry on even if I'm not here."
How am I suppose to carry on when all that I've been living for is gone."Say your last goodbye."The man say to me as he is getting up.
I totally forgot he was here and I know it all too well you don't need to be a god to tell; I know that I needed to say my last goodbye.
"I love you mom, don't worry about me." I try my best to put on a smile.
"I will love you always." Mother said with a weak smile.
I hug mother tightly and look up at the man. He looks at me with much sadness in his eyes. As he heads for the door moving further away from mother and I, mother closed her eyes but was still breathing.
Before he walks out the door and vanish into the night he said,"I've answered your prayer, now you must fulfill your promise."
After saying those words to me, he looks back one more time at mother and I then he walked out the door. The moment his silhouette vanished in the night, mother took her last breath.
