The village of Manhattan was ablaze. Thousands of villagers fled, fearing the wrath they would face, something they never wanted before, a mysterious pendant, it's stealthy deadly vibe, leaving nothing but a sign. A sign of menace. The village was left abandoned tonight, dead, lonely, not a single soul; deafening silence.......

CHAPTER 1

"Morning dad!"

"Morning Richard! Quick! You're getting late for school."

"Isn't it Saturday?"

Confused, a boy in his teen-ages brushed hastily, combed his hair, which looked like he had been electrocuted, dressed up extremely quickly and rushed downstairs.

"What's for breakfast?"

"Bacons, toasted bread and eggs!"

Richard found the Daily newspaper on his dining table.

The Jonathans lived in a tiny meager home, with 2 floors, small but something cozily satisfying about it. They lived on the outskirts of The New York City, 2 miles away from the East village.

East village on fire

25 November,2017-Last night the East village situated in Manhattan was on complete fire with thousands of people fleeing for their lives and huts fiercely burning. It almost took three hours and a half to bring the raging fire to a control and was finally extinguished after some time. Villagers are extremely puzzled as to how the fire started. Some say it was the wrath of the r-pendant, a pendant with the letter 'r' inscribed within it. The ancient pendant was stolen from the New York Museum of Artifacts located in Manhattan on the 28 of October , 2017. Since then no data has been reported on the lost pendant. Search teams are doing their best to locate the pendant. A man of 26 years of age, named Viktor Ronan, lost his life in the chaos. "He was such a friendly person. He doesn't deserve a tragedy like this.", says Helen, a neighbor of Viktor. Peter Antonio, who is Victor's old and closest friend says, "I saw it. I saw it with my own eyes. I warned him not to keep that pendant near him. He would never listen. Just when I stepped out to inform the police officials about the pendant, it happened like this. He was my dear friend. That stupid pendant had some power of attraction. He was never greedy. I can't digest the fact he's gone." The police and search teams began hunting down for the pendant in Viktor's home, which was half ash and half burnt, but unluckily, no pendant was found. Peter has been taken to the police station for further investigation of the case and will be under the police custody for a few days. The police have given out a notice, that if anyone identifies a 'r' pendant, quickly bring it to notice. Other features of this mysterious pendant are- it has a golden outer RING with a Ruby gem inside , it's got Sapphire gems inserted within the ring and the 'r' looks more like a cursive form—
