⟨ Qian Xi's POV ⟩
THE CROWD CLAPPED AS THE LAST CANDIDATE BOWED. I sighed. Finally, the stressful part was done. I walked down and was greeted by my best friend at the back stage.
"You did great back there!" Yiren said and we fist bumped. She passed me my water bottle and a face towel.
"Thanks." I said and drank it. I was worried since I stuttered during my speech. We were electing Student Council Officers and I tried to join the election since most of the teachers told me so.
I looked at the other students through the curtain. Wonder who they'll pick.
"Qian Xi!" Yiren called me and I looked at her. She signaled me to get out of there and I nodded.
"Don't worry too much. I know you'll win." Yiren said and gave me a genuine smile.
"Why didn't you participate in being an officer?" I asked and she just shrugged.
"Why not? It's a hassle to take care of children that aren't mine. Besides, I got other duties to do." She winked at me. I playfully rolled my eyes but inside, I'm hurt whenever she mentions it.
She has Leukemia and I'm scared of what will happen to her. Only I and her parents knew about her ilness. She's been hiding this since she doesn't want everyone to pity her because she's sick so she pretends she doesn't have anything wrong with her.
I stared that the girl infront of me. She was enjoying herself cheering the other candidates. I just laughed at her.
"What's so funny?" She asked and I just shook my head. "You shouldn't do that. I thought you're roiting for me." I said and pouted crossing my arms.
"Yah, I am!" Yiren defended angrily and I just laughed at the girl. I patted her head.
"Win or not, we're buying ice cream later." I said and she cheered like a little kid. "BUT you're paying."
"Eh?!" She looked at me and I just smiled innocently.
"YI YANG QIAN XI!!"
