Steven drove down the road, looking to lion, who was in the back seat, every few minutes. He had some of his dad's old music playing, happily bobbing his head to the beat. Despite the fact that he had moved out two years ago, the gems would still blow up his phone with messages to make sure he was okay. It didn't bother him, because he believed it just showed that they cared for him, which brought a happy smile onto his face.

Suddenly, his phone began to ring. He knew immediately who it was based on the ringtone, Connie. Steven pulled into a car park and answered the phone.
'Hey Steven! How are you?' Connie exclaimed the moment Steven put the phone to his ear.
'I'm good, how about you?'
'Great, actually!'
'Oh?' Steven said, with a curious grin.
'You'll never believe it, but AHHH I'm so happy!'
'Believe what?'
'My college is hosting a party, and they've said we can bring people not in the college! Just have to let them know who we're bringing.' As soon as Steven heard this a huge smile was brought upon his face, after all, he hadn't seen Connie in person for a few weeks now, since he had left the motel he was staying at.
'And you called me to tell me this?' He said in a playful tone.
'Yes! Of course! I wanted to ask if you'd, I don't know, possibly, join me to it?'
'Of course I will! When is it?' Steven replied, his smile becoming even bigger than it had previously been.
'Well, it's, uhm, tomorrow...'

Time Skip

Steven pulled into the car park of Connie's college, before checking the back once again, only to see Lion gagging on the back seat.
'Lion! How many times will I have to tell you, those weird lizards are for outside!' Steven let his head fall into his seat, defeated, as his lion threw up yet another lizard.
'That's going to take forever to clean again...' Steven said, his face still pressed into his seat.
'Not if you have my help, it won't!' Said a voice, but not one that Steven could recognise. He turned to see a girl, tall, with strawberry blonde hair and sky blue eyes.
'Don't mind me asking, but, who exactly are you, and why are you just standing at my door?' Steven said, with a confused tone in his voice. The girl immediately blushed, most likely out of embarrassment.
'Oh, I- um. I'm Milly. What's your name?' The girl replied, still blushing.
'Steven.'
'Yeah, so, I have some cleaning supplies in my car, I can help you clean that mess up.' Milly said, pointing over her shoulder at the white mini parked just a few spots away from Steven.

Time skip (I'm lazy, okay?)

They had just finished cleaning the mess, so Steven decided to sit on a bench and wait for Connie. The bench was made from a dark wood, and the back was slightly curved. Lion nuzzled his face into Steven's neck, something that never failed to make Steven melt with how cute it was.

Steven began to tap his hands on his knees, bored out of his mind, just sitting on a bench and wondering how long it would take for Connie to find him.
'Steven!' Connie cried, and Steven immediately stood up and began running towards her. He wrapped his arms around her, giving her the biggest hug of the century.

'Woah, this is new!' Connie said, feeling warm inside from Steven's hug. She then proceeded to wrap her arms around Steven, and let her head fall onto Steven's shoulder. Both teens blushed heavily, and when Connie looked up, she saw the familiar happy and soppy face she had always found to be adorable. She let out a small chuckle, finding pleasure in knowing just how happy Steven was to see her.
'What's funny?' Steven said, obliviously. Connie looked at his face again, seeing how his face had morphed into a look of confusion.
'You!' Connie began to laugh again, still looking at Steven. 'You're so oblivious. It's cute!' Laughed Connie, who then stopped laughing after realising what she had just said. Connie looked to Steven, who had begun to blush heavily and was looking off to the side. Then, she noticed as he looked to her, and his face morphed into a devilish grin.
'I'm cute, am I? Well, how's this?' Steven proceeded to tackle Connie to the ground, his hands by her shoulders, still grinning devilishly.
'Steveen, people will see!' Connie said. Steven immediately pulled away, and his face turned to a bright red hue.
'Sorry, Connie, I don't know why I did that'
'Don't apologise, Steven! It's not like anyone saw.'

Yet another time skip from a lazy author

Steven and Connie sat in silence on the grey-blue sofa in Connie's dorm, neither knowing what to say. Then, Connie remembered the piece of paper she had on her desk. She quickly got up, running to her desk, and grabbed the paper. She ran back over to the sofa, and sat next to Steven. Connie leant her head on his shoulder, and immediately felt Steven tense up. She held the piece of paper close to her face, close enough to where she could see it well, and to where Steven couldn't see it. Connie smiled softly, and looked up to Steven. She could see in his face that he was nervous, and could also see his glances to her.
'Remember this?' Connie said softly, holding up the paper to Steven's face. It was one of Steven's drawings, drawn in red crayon. It was a drawing of him and Connie, with the words "JAM BUDS" written above it. Connie felt Steven become less tense, as he let out a soft sigh and looked to her with a smile.
'You kept it?' Steven said to Connie, who then proceeded to sit up and give a little chuckle.
'Of course I kept it, you really think I wouldn't? It makes me happy every time I see it.'
'It does?' Said Steven, a bright red hue appearing on his cheeks.
'Yes, it does. It reminds me of when we'd play those silly games, and when you tried to hide the fact that you liked the ending of that book, what was it again?'
'Unfamiliar Familiar?'
'Yes! That's the one! I was a bit confused on why you'd think I would have thought less of you for liking the ending.'
'Yeah, that was one of the dumber things I did.'
'You still do dumb things, Steven!' Connie laughed, clutching her waist as she did. 'Hey, I just remembered,'
'Remembered what?'
'This college has a pool close to it.'
'Wait, really?'
'Yep! I saw it on my first day here! Wanna go down there and have a swim?'
'Well, I would, Connie, but I don't have my swim shorts-' Connie immediately grabbed hold of Steven's arm, dragging him out of the dorm, and to the lift.
'Wait, Connie, I-' Connie cut him off mid sentence.
'Do not worry, Universe!' Connie said, smirking at Steven.
'I- uhm- okay.' Steven said quietly, confused as to why Connie was dragging him around the college by the arm. Suddenly, Steven remembered something.
'Connie, did you lock the door to your dorm?'
'No, but we're going right back after we get to where we're going!'

For those who are confused, a sofa is the same thing as a couch. I'm from the UK, so don't mind if you see British words and spellings.

Gosh this took forever to write, sorry if it doesn't make much sense, and sorry for the bad cliffhanger at the end. I'll update this soon!
