Spencer grabbed his phone, his hands shaking.
He needed to fix this.
His friend obviously wasn't in his right mind right now, and Spencer was definitely going to need help.
The thing was, he had advertised that stupid game to almost everyone on his contacts, so they were all probably either not-yet brainwashed, bored out of their minds, or like...well, his friend. Best friend, that is.
The point is, he had shown it to everybody, and everyone on his contacts had happily taken up his offer to see what was 'so good' about this game.
Everyone had been so terribly excited to play. Everyone except...well, oh. No. Jenny. Teddy's Ex girlfriend. Literally his only other option. Spencer was unsure, Jenny probably (and perhaps obviously.) didn't want anything to do with the two. But he had to try. For Teddy.
He tapped on the Frog icon and waited anxiously as the phone started ringing. By the fourth ring, he was about to leave it and go cry for an hour, when there was a voice.
"Hell...o?"Spencer instantly perked up.
"Hey! Jenny! Thank goodness.. I really need your help. Well, not me, per say-"
"Shut up and say it already before I hang up on you, ya dork." She sounded upset. Spencer didn't have time to be careful. Honestly, it's not like she's over sensitive. She'd probably have you on the floor with concussion if you tried to talk to her in a soothing voice. Spencer had already witnessed that, and didn't want to be on the receiving end if he slipped up.
"Well...it's about..." He looked around, although there was no one in sight. Another painful reminder of what a loner he was without his Ted. Wait, no. Fuck you author for making that sound really gay, he was meant to think friend, fRiEnD— "..ah, Teddy."
He heard the other end go quiet after a sharp inhale, and was scared she would hang up and he would get his ass kicked when the reply came.
"It's about fucking time. It's about that idiotic game he's been so obsessed with, isn't it?"
Spencer sighed in relief. She sounded.... a little bit happier?
"Yes. I-I don't know what it is, but it's taking over his mind, or something, and I-" Spencer sighed.
"I know this is a lot to ask, especially after what happened between you two. But-but...could you..help me get him away from it? At least long enough to destroy it-"
Another shuffle at the other end.
"No."
Ah, he thought this would be coming. Unfortunately, he was losing his cool. (As he usually did when speaking to someone he wasn't exactly close to.) Panic time.
"Please? I'd even get you a snickers, or-or something-"
"You got some Ham pizza and Caribbean Crush?" .....Unexpected...but, thankfully, yes.
"Leftovers, which is honestly all of it, and a big bottle. That's full, of course."
"....Then you got yourself a deal, lover boy. Meet me behind the mall, Three fifty. Don't be late." Then the phone clicked, and Spencer smiled. Before narrowing his eyes.
'Lover boy'?
