CHAPTER ONE
❝ THE REUNION ❞The morning air felt refreshing. It was definitely a change from the regular flour and icing aroma the (h/c) haired girl had gotten used to over the short break; especially since it was the first time she had properly gone outside. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, the sun spreading its warmth and light to everything it could touch, the soft breeze that was leftover from the previous season danced with her hair, reddening her cheeks in the process. A small smile toyed on her lips as she glanced at the blossoming cherry trees at the front of the school. Even if she had missed the cherry blossom festival this year, she still got to enjoy its beauty.
Well, it's now or never, she thought to herself, knitting her eyebrows together as she gripped onto the strap of her bag firmly. (y/n) froze mid-step, shaking her head. "Yeah, no. I can't do this, I'm going home," she breathed, turning on her heel to head home. Her mother wouldn't mind, she'd get extra help at the bakery on one of the busiest days of the month.
Before she could go any further, her head collided with a chest, a blush spreading across her cheeks. Taking a step back, she bowed her head and began to apologize before a familiar voice interrupted her. "(y/n)?"
Her head perked up, her smile returning to her features. "Asahi!" Before he had a chance to react, (y/n)'s arms were wrapped around his torso, giving him a gentle squeeze. She pulled back to get a good look at him, squinting her eyes at him.
"U-uh, is something wrong?" He asked, becoming more and more nervous by the expression she gave him. The brunette glanced down at his uniform to see if she was not-so-subtly pointing out that something was out of place. Nope, that wasn't it. He had even checked with his mother that morning to see if he did his buttons right.
"(y/n), you're freaking him out!" Suga called, cupping his hands over his mouth.
This snapped her out of her trance, a lightbulb seemingly going off in her head. "Your hair! You grew it out, didn't you?" She tilted her head and smiled. "I told you it would look good. Suga, didn't I say Asahi would look good with long hair? You guys should take my advice more often."
"Well, you also said Suga would look good with blue hair," Daichi commented, earning a pointed look from the smaller girl.
She gave a small pout, crossing her arms over her chest. "I still stand by my statement," She huffed, her facade quickly falling as she was enveloped in a hug from Suga. The embrace was short and sweet, giving Daichi enough time to give her one as well.
"(y/n), did you work at your mom's bakery over break?" Suga inquired, receiving a small nod from the latter. "You have flour in your hair."
"I what-" (y/n) quickly brushed out her hair, completely dismissing Daichi. He gave a small pout and glared at the two of them. "Did I get it?"
"Yep!"
"Thank you, Suga. I feel like you're the only one I can really trust in this group." She glared at both Asahi and Daichi for they didn't point out the flour in her hair, which she would've gone the whole day without knowing. Asahi cowered under her gaze despite being much taller and stronger than she was. Daichi, on the other hand, lightly whacked her shoulder. "Ow! What was that for?"
"You were working at the bakery and you didn't tell me!"
"Well, it's not my fault you were too busy stuffing your face with my mom's new recipes. I swear, it's like I'm not even there when she's around." (y/n) let out a heavy sigh, receiving a pat on the back from Suga in an attempt to cheer her up.
