Today is the day. The day I marry the King of England, and I will become Anne, Queen Of England, it seems too much of a title, I am too humble for this glorious title, the ticket to be able to sleep in the King's bedchambers, but I have heard sometimes Henry wenches with his mistresses but I do try to forget this fact, the fact that after hours he pulls off the fine stockings he has gifted them, I will still try to please the king no matter what he may do, I am here to keep him happy.
I have been thinking about me trying to please the king, I have realized I am merely here to forge a Protestant alliance with England and Allemayne, I am a piece, I am a piece in the game of chess, playing with Kings and Queens. Just like cards, I am being played with a King card, a queen card and a heart card. Men think differently to women, they think about war, politics, national affairs, they feel as though women have no account only to build an alliance between the two houses involved. In Cleves I felt happy, free to do whatever I wanted, say anything I wanted but here at court my life has suddenly been enclosed in layers and layers of customs and rules. I no longer have any privacy, only when I am bed I am alone, but till the moment I wake up to when I go to bed, my ladies follow me everywhere, for luncheon, feasts. I do hope I get used to these odd customs and rules, at home when we meet people we simply courtesy or bow then talk, but here some men like to kiss my hand, when I first met Henry he did this to me and I bounced back to the shock and horror of what he just did, I just want to go home to Cleves.
I met the Princess Mary this early morn, she is an intelligent soul, she may be a Catholic but she sahres my mind in every other single way, she is all for women having the same thoughts as men, my cousin would love to meet her , as I have told him all good things about her, when they will meet, I do not know but I know they will the a perfect match.
