Zoey:

"Zo, get up."

"Zoey, get your lazy arse up."

"Zoey, c'mon." Grace whines.

"You've got fifteen minutes." She says.

"I don't wanna go." I whine, flipping over, and pulling the pillow closer to my ears.

She then hits me with that same pillow.

"Your mom called, she still wants you to come to school, and then go to the McDonough household? What's up with that? Don't you still hate Riley?"

"Ugh can you cover for me and say I got sick, or something."

"No. C'mon, now you got ten minutes. I'll give you some of my clothes." Grace says, pulling my leg.

Grace, she's skinny, but she has a figure.

Me, not so much. I guess you could say I'm skinny? But I have nothing. No curves. No bust. No nothing.

"Grace, I'm positive we don't have the same size pants." I mumble, thanking God I got a shower last night.

"I'll find something from my old clothes, jeez I know I'm fat but you don't have to point it out." She says, rummaging through her walk in closet.

She completely disappears into the closet when I hear her shout something.

She then reappears, holding a pair of jeans a designed spaghetti strap, and a baggy, but one that would fit me, hoodie.

"Get dressed, breakfast is downstairs." She says, tossing the clothes at me and walks out.

"And you're not fat Grace Lynn!" I yell at her, as she closes the door.

Mumbling incoherent words, I get dressed.

Walking down the stairs of the house, Carter, Grace's younger brother, runs into me.

"Sorry!" He yells, scrambling to get the papers.

Helping him pick them up, I give hand them back, after looking at them.

"Carter Scranton Roosevelt. You're failing?" I ask the freshman in high school.

"What no." He asks, quickly hiding the paper.

"Cart, seriously?" I ask, taking the paper and looking at it.

"Zoey, give it back!" He says, holding the paper above my head, I walk into the kitchen.

"Momma R, I've got something to show you." I say, handing her the paper.

She looks at it, then at me.

"Honey, I think you should show this to your mom, I can't sign-"

"It's not mine." I say, pointing to the top, where Carter's name is.

Cart, who is now hiding somewhere, gets called into the kitchen.

"Thanks Zoey, have a good day at school. Carter's going to be catching the bus this morning."

"Alright, bye," I say, grabbing the blueberry muffin, and running out of the house and to Grace's car, where she patiently waits for me.

"Cart's taking the bus. Go my slave." I say.

"Keep acting like that, I won't drop you off at the McDonoughs'."

"Fine with me." I state.

"Again, what happened?"

I shiver, just thinking of the day.

*Flashback*

It was the first audition I finally got the courage to try out for.
