Goddess Girl...The Mutant

Chapter One: Origin

Author note: Forgive me with my editing skills I will work on that, I just wanted to pitch this idea of mine to see if it's worth pursuing. Please let me know if you like it! Enjoy!❤️

The idea is based off of Marvel movies and comics, think of it as a sort of fan fic but with none of the original characters.

A few years ago when I was 17 I was working at Target on the south side of town. It was nice and close to where I lived,  And it was trying to save up for college. But on one seemingly normal day at work, I was hanging some shirts on the rack, it was getting close to closing time when three big burly guys wearing ski masks and holding very large guns come bursting in.

"EVERYONE GET ON THE GROUND NOW!" The tall one yells, pointing his gun at everyone convincing them to comply.

I lift up my hands in surrender and slowly start to kneel to the ground when I hear a scream of pain and woman balling to my left.

"I c-can't get d-down it hurts" I quickly turn my head in her direction and see a young woman who is very pregnant, holding her belly.

"Shit" I whisper to myself and slowly take a very steps towards her  until I'm hold on to her arm.

"It's okay ma'am let me help you down" I say in a calm but shaky voice. She looks to me and nods her head, still a steady stream of tears running down her face.

"I said get down NOW!" The tall one yells pointing the gun directly at the pregnant women. What the fuck is wrong with this guy! She's fucking pregnant! And by the looks of it she could give birth at any minute!

"Give her a second! Can't you see shes fucking pregnant!" I snap at him, I couldn't help it my body is suddenly filled with rage, I can feel my body temperature getting hotter with my fury. His gun still pointing at her.

" What you say to me little bitch? Fine I'll help her get down" he says then pulling the trigger, aimed right at her stomach. I scream and push her out of the way ready to take the bullet, my hands are in front of me, facing the attacker. I close my eyes ready to be hit but it never comes. I open my eyes to see a purple force field around me, and the bullet on the ground a few feet in front of me. My hands are tingling, I look down at my hands in disbelief, then look back up to see the robber very pissed off.

"Think that will stop me? Think again." The man growled before firing off 4 more shots. I hold my hands back up again, my hands still tingling, and I push my hands forward, the force field obeying, hits the robber with a huge punch of force and a he goes flying. Hitting the wall and getting knocked out cold. I hear a yell behind me, I turn around to see the lady on the ground sitting, looking up at me in disbelief. And one of the other robbers a few feet away gun pointing at me. I don't even wait till he fires. I lift up one hand and push forward, the force field knocking him into the desk near the changing room, his head slums forward and his gun skids across the room. The third man comes running. He looks at the scene in front of him than runs out the door. Too shocked at what just happened to bother to stop him, I let him go. I turn my attention to the pregnant lady and crouch down next to her.
"Ma'am are you alright? Are you hurt?!?" I ask frantically.

"I'm fine thanks to you! What's your name dear? The lady smiled up forwards me, her face red and puffy.

"Athena" I said reaching my hand towards her to help her up. She grabs my arm I'm a swift movement and pulls me close. I look at her straight in the eyes, confused. Her eyes turn gold and right when I was about to pull away she says;

"Listen to me Athena, the cops will be here any moment and you very well know that Mutants are still illegal. I want you to run." She says to me, except her mouth doesn't move. I look down to see her hand on my arm when it starts to grow extremely hot.

" Your in my head? Your a Mutant too?" I ask, looking back into her now golden eyes. Her eyes widen in shock when I realize my mouth didn't move either...and she clearly heard me. She looks down at her hand that's holding onto me, then back at my face.

" Your an even stronger Mutant than I thought. You'll need to run now, I don't want them to catch you" I hear her voice in my head again. Is she crazy I can't leave her!
The sound of sirens in the distance starts to appear.

" But I didn't catch your name?" I say to her still unwilling to leave her.

" Sylvia, now trust me, you have to go now!" She pushes me and I get up. Her voice still echoed in my head as I look towards the front doors and see the police lights flashing. I look down at her and nod before running out the back door.
