chapter one coming of age

I lay on my bed waiting for midnight thinking of my birthday was agonizing considering the death of my parents was only one year ago. life has been hard since then but thinking of them keeps me from losing my mind completely. I know what waits for me for my 16th birthday since the age of 10 my parents said that I would change I now know what they meant. all the signs were there I just had to pay attention a shapeshifter that's what I was going to be at midnight is when I would get my first coming of change. Midnight came ,a loud gong announced it well a Searing pain in closed my body when I slowly became crippled in my bed my jaw extend to a snout and my claws grew sharp and I grew into a huge dog, a wolf to be more exact the first part of my change before changing in to anything that I want.I fall onto the floor I take a second and get up slowly looking in the mirror to my left a huge hairy thing is all I see in the moonlight. what has my life become I think to myself I go over to the window slowly and look out of beautiful shade of moonlight that covers the city my life is changing and I must accept this it may be hard for the next month my next change will come but soon my changes will be over and I will be free to to live my life.what will become of me I think too myself so many questions so little answers I need to find somebody that can help me go through this. I know of only one person who can help me my friend Miranda she lives in a different city than me but I can always go find her. I open my window slowly and crawl out onto the balcony turn my back to the wall and look at the 40 foot drop I have to make.I jump off the balcony and land on the concrete below my ankle hurts slightly but I keep walking slowly I learn how to use the powers of the new body I have inhabited. I use my sense of smell and track my friend she's about one city away from me I start running picking up speed with my new body i have relief knowing that my friend is so close. soon I'm at her building i claw up the side of the building to her window it slides open easily and freely.I guess she forgot to lock it I hop in and quickly the lights are turned on and I have a gun straight to my face. since I can't speak human she must be freaked I give her a sad look and that's all it takes she completely understands Who I am "Lana she "whispers "is that you"I nod my head with great sadness weighing down on me "you knew I could help" she said I nodded "come in come in" she said with a slight bit of sarcasm in her voice "Lena from the beginning I knew what you were for some time I've been waiting for you to change for you see you right to come to me first"I looked at her with great confusion"for you see I am a vampire I have learned my powers well and I could tell what you were the first time I seen you"she leads me into a room where a big bed "lana you can stay here tonight until the change is over" i look at  her with gratefulness in my eyes and lay on the bed shut my eyes and soon blackness overtakes me and I fall asleep.
