Chapter 1

Maddie POV

My sister and I are on the show called Dance Moms and it was the Monday after the competition. It was time for pyramid which was the famous ranking system my dance teacher, Abby Lee Miller uses. She started pyramid by saying, "We went to Starpower last week and we won!! Ok to the pyramid: on the bottom of the pyramid, Brooke. You didn't stand out in the group dance and u are the oldest. You should be a leader, not a follower. Next, we have Chloe. I have you a solo and you forgot your dance. The group was okay though." Christi, Chloe's mom started yelling at Abby "Chloe learned her solo in two days! What do you expect?" Abby goes "Maddie and Mackenzie learn their solos in 2 days and they are younger and still can win. No excuses." Next we have Paige. "You didn't stand out and I trunk that you could have been a lot better. Kelly, Paige's mom then yelled at Abby vsaying that Paige was amazing and stuff but I tried to block it out. Mackenzie is so little though and she isn't the best so at pyramid I squeeze her hand to make sure she's ok. In the middle, here was 1 person and that was Nia. Abby says that Nia is improving but only slightly but it's better than the rest. And on top of the pyramid is: me and Mackenzie. We both won our divisions and we did great in the group dance. That's when the moms went ballistic and Kenzie couldn't handle it anymore so she ran out crying. Then, I ran after her cause she is my sister. She doesn't understand why the moms hate us so much and I told her to calm down and just don't let it but her because we are here for a reason. She agreed and we went back in to the studio to see the moms and Abby fighting over us. I hated it, all I wanted to do is dance. When the moms finally calmed down, Abby explained that there was going to be 2 solos, a duet and a group dance. The solos were me and Kenzie. Mine was called: Nothing is stopping me and Kenzie's is called: Beat that. They both sound like they will be great solos, as long as the moms don't get involved. The duet was apparently me and Mackenzie and the moms all got mad. Abby says that we deserve it and then told the moms to be quiet. My mom just looked at Kenzie and I and smiled. She knew all we wanted to do was dance. Our duet was called: freedom and Abby said it was about escaping all these moms. The group dance was called: Cooperation. Kenzie and I share the lead as we are supposed to cooperate together and show the bond of two people. I love to dance and now, I have a whole new week ahead of me to prove that I deserve to be here.
