Jessica woke up the next day hangover, her head hurt so much and within seconds of waking up she felt bile rise in her throat, she rushed to the bathroom and vomited her stomach's content.
After she was done puking her guts out and rinsing her mouth, she cradled her head and walked slowly towards the bathroom and looked for any medicine that could relieve her of the raging headache, she found some Tylenol and popped in 2 in her mouth, she then went off to bed to sleep off the headache.***
Afterwards, she woke up to the voice of her roommate talking to someone from the muffled voices she guessed it was on the phone .
Her headache had receded to a mild pulsation , her main concern now was the growling of her stomach that reminded her that she hadn't eaten anything since yesterday. With that thought in mind she headed towards the kitchen.
"Good morning" she greeted her roommate who was busy cooking something on the stove and her phone was on the kitchen island
"The princess has finally woken up,” Shea exclaimed dramatically while looking at her over her shoulder
"And it's afternoon, not morning”Shea didn't look at all hangover, her face looked lively as if she didn't spent last night chugging down drinks, while Jessica looked disgruntled, her hair was flying everywhere and she knew her eyes resembled someone's who was high. She decided not to dwell on the time because it was Saturday and she didn't urgently need to go anywhere.
"What are you cooking? Can I have some?"
She asked politely while eyeing the delicious food, Shea placed a plate of scrambled eggs and some bacon strips in front of Jessica. They ate silently, Jessica noticed that Shea was giving her curious glances every now and then, this continued until Jessica couldn't take it anymore so she decided to confront Shea about it."Why are you looking at me like that?"Jessica asked Shea who was in the middle of chewing. She put up one finger to signal Jessica to give her a minute to swallow her food, after she was done; she looked Jessica directly in the eye and told her what had been bothering her
"Who was that guy you were with last night?"Shea asked while raising a perfect eyebrow as if daring Jessica to lie to her.
Upon hearing this, Jessica had a rush of memories of what happened the previous night. She had met a handsome stranger whose name she learnt was Michael, he had the most beautiful eyes She's ever seen ,but she wasn't about to tell all of this to Shea ,who would probably probe and prod her for all the details.
"Nobody, I had just met him outside the moment you walked out of the club” said Jessica nervously while she rubbed her neck, (A nervous habit of hers)
"Nuh uh, I know you are lying. The way you were eyeing him, i don't think so. You were pretty close to him to be just a stranger” Shea said with a keen expression on her face as if she was revisiting her memories of the night before.
Jessica decided there was no lying to Shea, she might as well just tell her the truth, after all there was no harm in doing that and she might get a second opinion on the matter. So she told Her everything that transpired that night, from the moment she stumbled into Michael up to the point where she left him on that sidewalk when she saw Shea approaching. After she was done, she noticed the expression on Shea’s face, she was grinning as if she had won the lottery.
"Why are you grinning like that?"Jessica asked.
"I am happy because finally your boring teacher life is about to get interesting “
said Shea while walking towards her room leaving Jessica pondering over what her friend had just said.
