It was a rainy day.

He decided to open their shared Netflix on his birthday. To be exact, her account on their shared Netflix. He had been avoiding it since she left because he knew exactly what he had to face if he opened it, so he just paid the fee every month and never once clicked on it again. That was until today.

It started out as a slip of the hand. He was only cleaning up his phone when he slid his finger on the app, but since it was already opened he clicked on her account. When they started to share this Netflix account, she told him that she hadn't watched K-dramas for years. Given their hectic idol schedule, she was quite sure the streak would go on longer, thus she wouldn't want to waste an account. He just insisted on her sharing it with him, simply because he wanted them to have something together. Ordinary couples could just move in or raise a dog or a cat together, but ridiculously the only thing they could have together was a Netflix account. At that time she laughed so hard that she cried when he told her his childish thoughts. However he had what he wanted when she agreed to put her name on one of the profiles, just to watch Itaewon Class, whose OST he sang, a few years later.

In the Continue Watching part was of course Itaewon Class, and surprisingly next to it was Goblin. This series was a hit in 2016 so he had heard a lot about it and even knew the plot thanks to the constant updates on SNS but he hadn't really watched it. He hesitated for a little bit but then quickly clicked on the title.

It continued to play from 42:25 of episode 16.

Kim Go Eun and Gong Yoo's characters were saying tearful goodbyes to each other. And the exact sentences the female lead said at that minute, that second were "Of my three wishes, you didn't grant one. Can you grant it now? Don't be heartbroken for a long time. I'll come to see you again, so wait for me and don't make it rain too much."

His heart stung. He had been doing great up until that moment. At least that was what he had been telling himself. He had gone back to work, written a few songs, prepared for their new album, done a lot more work just to "live this life" for her. That was what she wanted, right? For him to live this life for both of them. He had endured well after that day, that was true. Be that as it might, had he really been living?

She used the quotes from Goblin to tell him not to make it rain too much. It was kinda irony though, because she really liked rain. But whether she liked it or not, he couldn't control it. He really couldn't control anything about her, from her decision to his emotions towards her.

It was a rainy day, and she somehow came back after 7 months, telling him to be heartbroken but not for too long and to wait for her to come see him again.

Taehyung only realized that she was really, truly, definitely gone after a whole year.

He had been feeling lost lately. He had always felt like that since this day one year ago, but these days it happened more often than usual. Maybe it was because he had plenty of free time as they were on a break between comebacks and touring. Or maybe it was just because he realized that it had been a year.

One year. Still he couldn't let go. He didn't know what was worse, not being able to let go or not being able to remember her at all. Most of the time he wished she hadn't left him. Other times he wondered what it would be like if she hadn't met him. Maybe if it was like that, he wouldn't have to feel this pain that was never ending.

He did try to let go and move on. The old books that she left on his shelf, her sketchbook, her crayons, her LP player that she loved so much; all of those were put in a sealed box and hidden deep behind his closet so that he could stop feeling her presence. Yet it didn't work. He still saw her everywhere and it made forgetting hard.
