On paper, Becky and Seth were the perfect couple. Truly, they were.

Two fitness obsessed, nerdy, sensitive, down to earth individuals with a hidden wild side, they were practically meant to be and it was a surprise to many around them that cupid had taken as long as he had done in pairing them up romantically.

You can only imagine the sheer surprise shared by many when the two fell apart not even two years into their relationship. You see, like many supposed perfect things, Becky and Seth were perfect until they weren't.

They'd met through a friend of a friend at a party where the music was far too loud and obnoxious and the air sticky and sickening. Seth was stuck in a sofa, lukewarm beer in hand just looking for a way out when Jon pointed Becky out, suggesting they meet for he knew they'd get along well.

To this day, Jon blames himself. But he couldn't have predicted the inevitable, no one could.

Becky was stuck in a conversation at the other end of the room, stiff smile on her face and fidgety hands touching her hair and phone.

When their eyes met, it felt like coming home. They found comfort in being with each other and to begin with it was easy and rewarding. She let go of her independence to be with him, they challenged each other's perception of the world.

But in the end their lives just didn't match up.

Becky's days were spent at the office as she tried her hardest to be the definition of young success in a business that wouldn't accept anything less, as she burnt brighter and brighter she didn't realising she was burning out. Seth was doing a thousand things at once, opening both a coffee shop and a gym with friends, offering personal training lessons and making a name for himself, all he could talk about was the next thing. He never looked back, never stopped to reflect but in hindsight, he didn't have the chance to.

They never blamed the situation or the circumstances, instead blaming themselves and then each other for their downfall.

Now, three weeks later Becky knows it wasn't the end of the world even if it felt like it at the time. They say that everyone has one chance to fuck up their life and she'd had her chance. Of course, she still thinks of him, it's hard not to pay any mind to the person you gave your all to and loved wholeheartedly for so long. Becky doesn't know what the future has in store for her or for Seth, she shouldn't care as much as she does, really she shouldn't.

Although for now, she's happy for the moments of the day she gets when she doesn't think of it all.
