Fitz opened his eyes to find Dex lying next to him sleeping soundly. He immediately shot up. Then he realized that Sophie and others were having a sleepover. Wasn't Dex on the other side of the room? Dex cuddles closer and wraps his arms around Fitz's waist. Fitz was redder than a plum. Just then Fitz realized how beautiful dex was. He looked so peaceful. The way his hair glowed, and they way his freckles were brought out in the sunlight. His lips looked so soft. He caressed his face. Fitz moves to another room, not being able to comprehend what just happened. He couldn't like Dex! He had to like girls!! He had to be normal! He was supposed to be perfect!!
The next day Dex avoided Fitz like the plague. Did he remember?! Fitz was constantly worrying about last night. Fitz had decided to talk to Dex after school. Fitz grabbed Dex's hand and dragged him to a empty classroom. He pushed him to a wall. He reallywanted to kiss him but he controlled himself. "Why were you avoiding me?" Fitz said. Dex was looking at fitz's lips. He blushed. Dex stuttered. "U-um w-well I!" He turned away. He turned his face to his. He narrowed his eyes. Dex shut his eyes too embarrassed to look at him. Fitz leaned in, he pressed his lips against his. He's been longing to do this since last night. But, Dex didn't kiss back. It broke his heart. Dex pushed him away and ran. Fitz realized that he went toofar.
Dex ran to his room. He buried himself in millions of blankets. He couldn't function. He couldn't believe that the Fitz, every girl wants chose him. Him! A bad match! He thought that Fitz liked Sophie! Fitz hailed Dex multiple times throughout the night. Dex lyed there, crying.
Dex didn't bother eating breakfast. As soon as Dex entered the school Fitz tried to apologize. Of course he didn't accept. Sophie was worried. She glanced at the two. She walked up to Dex. She wrapped her arms around him. He was shaking. "Do you wanna talk?" Sophie whispered. Dex nodded his head. Sophie entered his mind.
Sophie: what's wrong?
Dex: h-he he
Dex showed her last night.
Sophie: do you need to cancel school? You can come home with me.
Dex: ...... sure
Sophie told magnate Leto that Dex wasn't feeling well. She took him to Iceland. Sitting on top of a waterfall. They were silent for the whole day. They were looking at a sunset. The skies were shades of pinks and oranges. Dex was silently sobbing. "Do you like him?" Sophie asked. "No" Dex said. "Oh.." Sophie said. "I love him" Dex said. Sophie held his hand. "Do you wanna tell him?" Sophie asked. Dex nodded. She brought them home.
He dragged Fitz to his room. He took off his cape. He pulled Fitz to the bed. He looked in a different direction, blushing. He gently kissed Dex. In case he wanted to back out. Dex deepened the kiss. His lips tasted like strawberries. Fitz thought. He kissed his neck. Dex was blushing. Fitz put his hands in his hair. Dex was exhausted so he stopped this madness before it could go any farther. Fitz frowned again. Dex covered himself with a sheet and fell asleep.
Dex remembered that they had school and launched out of bed. Shaking Fitz awake he quickly grabbed his uniform. He had already taken off his shirt when he realized Fitz was staring at him. Dex threw an old gadget at him.
When they both arrived to school late Keefe had his suspicions. "So, why didn't we play base quest at Everglen yesterday?" Keefe said teasingly. Dex turned red. "Kidding, kidding. But you owe me!" Keefe said. Fitz played it cool and laughed it off. Sophie approached Dex. "Did ya tell him?" Sophie asked. She was giggling. Dex elbowed her. "Tell who what?" Keefe asked. "Nothing!" Dex yelled his face bushing. They all headed their separate ways.
It was study hall, the last class of the day. They did their homework. It was time to go home. Tam was was about to go home when Keefe approached him. "Hey .." Keefe said, panting. "We're having a .. group hang! Wear human clothes, if you don't have some you can borrow mine." Keefe said out of breath. Tam tried to hide his faint blush. "Fine." Tam said. Keefe grabbed his hand dragging them to a secluded part of the school. "What are you doing?" Tam said. Worrying that he would touch him again. "Takin you to my house?" Keefe said confused. Tam panicked he went silent. Keefe tightened his grip on Tam's hand. Tam had blushed again.
They arrived at candle shade. "What are we doing here?" Tam asked. "I scored the tower of doom from my dad." Keefe said. Tam remembered that they were still holding hands. Tam blushed. Keefe blushed too. "What, you don't like it bangs boy?" Keefe teased. He held Tam up by his shirt. Tam shoved him away. Keefe led them up the millions of stairs. A minute later and they finally found Keefe's room. Keefe went to his walk in closet. Tam went to keefe's desk. He flipped through the pages. There was a picture of him, looking soft and cute. He blushed. Keefe thought of him like that!Tam shut the sketchbook shut. Keefe threw a shirt and pants at him. He took off own shirt. "What are you doing!?" Tam said. "Dude, we're meeting in like two minutes." Tam turned around blushing again. He changed.
They arrived at Havenfield, Sophie had a big grin on her face. She looked excited. She took off their trackers. They all linked hands, then Sophie teleported them somewhere. Dex realized that Sophie talked about it. He thinked that it was called .. Provincetown?? "Follow me!" Sophie said. She led them to a building. "Since it's June 28th we are celebrating gay day!!" Sophie said. "Doesn't gay mean happy?" Linh said. Sophie was shocked she looked at Fitz. He knew what it meant only because of the human movies he watched. Sophie sighed. She explained what it was. She pulled out some signs. CELEBRATE THE GAYS!! "Soooo there is a a community that are ... different, and sometimes they are not appreciated for who they are and not seen as humans." The elves were furious. Sophie tried her best to calm her friends down. They prepare for the parade by making more signs for everyone. They must have been the loudest ones at the march.
"That was so much fun!" Biana yelled in excitement. This time they could wear any human clothes they wanted. They'd gotten swept up into a crowd and got separated. Biana and Linh found a girl? "So, What are ya? I'm poly!" Biana was confused. "My friend dragged us here but it's been a ton of fun!" Biana said. "Is that your girlfriend?" She asked. "W-What?! N-no!!" Biana stuttered. Both girls were blushing. "So it's not official?" The girl said. "We don't feel like that?" Biana said that as more of a question. The girl gave her the are you fudging me look.
Tam was trying to find a corner to be alone but Keefe eventually found him. "Hey! I finally found you!" Keefe said. Guys were surrounding him. There were mainly small cute ones draped across him. Tam was so jealous. He glared at them.
Sophie wandered around aimlessly. She'd hate to admit it but she was lost. Eventually she made her way to some sort of bar. "Hey, how old are ya?" A random dude said. Sophie turned around to see a young man holding a beer barely older than 17. "I-I I'm 15." Sophie said. "Can you hold your liquor?" He said. He was obviously not sober. He was friendly though. He mumbled something Sophie couldn't make out. He looked at the ocean. He smiled. "Do you ever wonder what it would be like?" He said. Sophie realized that he might actually thinking about jumping. "Please don't do it please!" Sophie grabbed his hand. He told her his woes. "I really thought that he was the one but then he told me he was done." Sophie started to cry. She had gone through the same thing with both Fitz and Keefe. She laughed. "The same thing happened to me twice. I know how ya feel buddy." She smiled. He gave her a new bottle. Her ribbons came undone she took off her shoes. She stood on the railing. The wind was blowing through her hair. She jumped. The feeling of the wind against her face. The rush was exhilarating. She closed her eyes. The feeling of it. Oh the feeling! At the last second she disappeared into the void. She wanted to do it again so so much. So she did.
Dex was pulled away from Fitz. A man slightly older than Dex, cornered him. Dex was terrified. The man smiled. "Hello, I'm-" he got cut off after Fitz kicked him "somewhere". Fitz immediately wrapped his arms around Dex. He looked at Dex like he was the only person in the world. "Are you okay?" Fitz asked. Dex nodded. Fitz cleared a path for the two bye shoving a lot of people. Dex apologized to everyone of them. Dex chuckled at fitz's antics. He knew something was wrong as soon as he heard a scream coming from a balcony. Dex rushed over. "What happened?" Dex asked the man. "Sh-She jumped She really jumped." He said. "Who?" Dex was terrified at what he would find. "She was blonde wearing a blue ribbon, brown eyes long blue skirt." He said. Dex was crying. Fitz hugged him. When they woke up the next morning and didn't find Sophie they knew all hope was lost.
Sophie couldn't get out of the void. She was put under a spell by the jump. She just floated in the purple and black emptiness. There was no gravity but she propelled herself and span around. She was twirling when she saw it. The only thing that brought her back to her senses. Those pair of periwinkle eyes.
