A knock came suddenly at the door. Thats weird, I thought, Gerald has already been here today. The door opened in one swift movement and a body was flung inside. It was a boy.
He hit his head on the ground, hard. When I looked to see who delivered him, the door slammed shut and whoever was there disappeared. My first thought was Great. I have to deal with some random unconscious guy all by myself.
The boy was out for nine hours, which I took to observe him. Underneath his bruise covered face, I could make out a delicate, thin nose, small pink lips, and thick eyelashes. His rich brown hair was tousled, standing up in random directions. He looked fairly tall, maybe 5'11", with a lean body. I assumed that he was about my age, give or take a couple years. He looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn't quite place why.
After a while, I reasessed the situation and decided that having another person on the same boat as me could be useful. Maybe he knew other information that I didn't. Maybe he knew who put us here. These thoughts clouded my head as I drifted off into a deep sleep.
As I lay, half asleep, I sensed a presence above me. When I opened my eyes they were met by a pair of chocolate brown eyes. And those eyes were connected to the face of the boy.
"Ohmygod you're awake!" I shouted, even though he was 9 inches from my face.
" Who are you? When did you get here?" He asked with a touch of an accusatory tone.
"My name is Helena. They took me here about eight days ago. I don't know what they want with me, or who they even is." I said, sitting up in bed.
"You've been here eight days and nothing has happened?" He asked in amazement.
"I was unconcious for the first three days, and the other five days were the same. A guy, his name is Gerald, brings me food everyday at around two o'clock. I usually just sleep a lot." I told him.
"They feed us," he repeated.
He was satisfied with that answer and crawled into bed, obviously tired. Although I had a million questions to ask him, I let him drift off into sleep. I would ask him when he woke. He needed time.
