08 | "shimmer & sunshine"

It's been 2 weeks since they entered the academy. Lisa never thought that she would be living in a mess. Unfitting for the princess of Altair as her brother would comment when they entered the class late or with clearly magic blew dry hair.

Even so, she had no problem adjusting in the dorms and classes. Despite the great differences with upbringing, experiences among them, she finds it easy to just come up to people and say hi.

Maybe that's one of the reasons she was sorted into Aspen. Other than the people she met on her house, Seokjin the son of the headteacher of Nyx, Sir Bastien. Hoseok and Seulgi, her friends from Altair, she started hanging out with her brother's house friends too. Jennie, Jimin, Joy and Yeri.

"Princess Azure," she felt a hand touch her shoulders. It was Nux Aspen, her head house teacher. He was a slender man, pale skin with his long white shiny hair. Lisa told Yoongi about him once, describing him as if he was a vampire or perhaps a snake.

Yoongi advises her to avoid him if she can. When she asked the reason why, he mumbled something that sounded like sketchy, something about his eye, the mysterious aura and at that point, Lisa just zoned her brother out. A thing she does often.

He was popular with the female students. It's a no feat when he's is really caring and just generally loving. Sir Sunshine was what people called him during his class.

Plus, compared to the other three headteachers, he is kind and just gives the 'older brother that you can depend on' the type. At least that was how Lisa saw him.

"Sir Nux," she turned as she faced him, giving a huge smile as they walked together to the fields.

"You are surprisingly carefree for someone who is late to class." He chuckled, his fox was fast asleep in his hands.

"Well, with you walking with me to the field, Dame Sova will not scold me or anything. I can just say that you were wishing to share a conversation with me too." She chuckled.

"Lisa!! Hurry up! Art of fighting class is already started." Seulgi who looked frantic pulled Lisa's hand as they join the others on the field.

The sun was shining brightly but it was a nice day outside. Lisa reminisces the day where she would definitely skip her reconnecting with the spirits or aura reading class with the gurus.

"Are you thinking about how you're gonna skip class if we were back in Altair?" She heard a low grumble to her side.

She looked up to see Yoongi looking at her. "Oooh, did you just read my mind?" She chuckled softly, her smile never faded on her face. Today seemed like a great day for her.

"Today's weather is great and it's a shame that we're spending it on whatever lessons we're learning." She took a peek as she searches for her brother's friend. The short brunette wasn't with him.

"Where is your friend?" She whispered to his ear with a blow from the wind, she made sure her wind was colder than the air around them as she nudged him harshly at his sides. She just loves to annoy the hell out of him.

"Who? The girl from Sirenia?" He quirked an eyebrow, pushing his sister's face to face the front before the teacher could see her. The teacher looked straight at their direction after he did that. Lisa was lucky, he is looking after her.

"Yup! Jennie, I haven't seen her in a day." She said with a pout. Other than her brother, she was always coming up beside or behind Jennie by surprise. Much to her dismay.

'Feathers' was what Jennie usually called her since she was 'light on her feet'. Jennie seemed annoyed at her but she still teaches her if she asked and that just indicates that Jennie still considers her as a friend despite her annoyance.

"Form two straight line in front of one another and try tackling them without the use of magic power. "And fight!" Lisa look in front of her, a girl probably as tall as her and quite skinny too. The girl lunges toward her first.

Lisa's instinct with the air movements emitted from the girl managed to help her swiftly step the girl from the back causing the girl to fall to her butt. The guy next to her came rushing to her despite his opponents were lunging at him.

"Rosie!" The girl brush him off and stood up her on her own, glaring at Lisa. Lisa rubs the back of her neck as they heard the teachers applauded those who manage to defence and be on the offensive. Now, what should Lisa do? She didn't mean to successfully defend herself but the wind was helping her. It was pure instinct. 

As the teacher dismissed the class, Lisa runs towards the girl again. "Rosie! Wait!" She catches up with her and offers a smile although it wasn't returned to her.

"What do you want?" The girl huffed as she hugged herself. Her eyes were darting from one ends to another, perhaps looking for someone she knew.

Lisa handed out her hand, genuinely smiling at her "I'm Lisa, let's be friends." The girl looks at her outstretched hands as she contemplates on it a little too long. Lisa took the initiative to take her hand in hers and shake it.

"We're friends now. See you, Rosie." She ran as fast as she could as she saw her brother talking with Jennie. She tackled them both making them crash to the floor together. Lisa giggled when she saw Jennie's face. 

"Well. aren't you a ray of sunshine?" Jennie stood up as she brushes her hair away from her face helping Lisa to her feet. Lisa took her hands and she felt like she was touching an iceberg. 

It was so cold that she felt like if she holds her hands longer, she might freeze. She smiled the feeling away afraid that Jennie noticed her sudden uncomforted. But deep down, she was afraid. Jennie was practically frozen.
