I was sitting in my biology class writing one of my biggest exams when it happened.
a dark blue raven hit the window next to me. I winced and jas - who was sitting next to me - looked at me questioningly. until then it was an unexpected ting to happen but nothing crazy. so i shrugged my shoulders, jas nodded and continued writing. I turned my head back to the window and looked outside. something about this bird seemed weird. I thought it was dead or fainted (can ravens even faint?) because it was lying completely still two floors down on the school lawn. but suddenly the bird moved and it felt like it was looking straight into my eyes. what the -
"miss adams could you please focus more on your exam than the window. I hope you know that half of your grade this term depends on it."
"oh, yes. I almost forgot, it's not like she's telling us every five seconds right?" liv turned around to me and glared at miss quin our biology teacher.
"miss teagan would you please stop talking, this is your last warning!"
liv rolled her eyes at her and smiled at me. that kind of smile that says I'm glad when this is over. I smiled back at her and tried to focus on the exam but I couldn't concentrate anymore. stupid bird, i had studied so much for this test. "you have 10 minutes left" damn, I really need to focus less on that stupid raven and more on the exam.
15 minutes later and the bell rang. "finally we made it! can you believe it? to be honest it wasn't that bad, how was yours?" - "good, I guess" - "never study for a biology exam again wohoo!" - "haha, jas aren't you planning on studying medicine next year?" - "do you always need to be such a pessimist? thank you for the reminder, dumbass" liv let out one of her loud laughs and jas and her went into their usual banter.
"what is it this time" henry walked to me with a smile. "I think something about 'should jas study medicine or is he too lazy' ", we both laughed and went after them.

3 days later
"hey, ready to go?" jas was standing in front of me when I opened the door. he looked at his phone but when I didn't answer he looked up and it took him one second until he laughed so hard that he almost fell. "what? why are you laughing jas?" I gave him a confused look and rubbed my eyes. "ohh" and now we were both laughing. 2 hours earlier I tried out a new green mask and when I say green I mean GrEeN. it was not this cute pastel green nor an acceptable dark green. no. it was the kind of green everyone hated and the color of the mask was surprisingly intense. but it didn't really matter because I was at home and nobody would see me and my beautiful green face. or so I thought. before I fell asleep without washing it off. I was already looking ... let's say interesting, but with sleepy eyes and green spots all over my face - I am definitely looking completely ridiculous right now.
" yo guys why are you - omg hahaha ... ru... ruby hahaha, you might wanna wash this off before we're going!" liv came upstairs trying to keep a serious facial expression. but than jas started jumping around like a frog, "quack, quack, quack" and it was over with liv. "oh, I hate you guys", she laughed, took a mirror out of her bag and started retouching her make-up. "oh liv we love you too", I said and to top it off I wanted to give her a kiss on the cheek. "RUBY! are you doing this on purpose?" jas started laughing again when liv pushed me away with fear written all over her face. "oh my god, sorry I forgot", I tried to say it without laughing but I failed. "wanna come in? I will do my best to be quick, but I'm gonna need at least twenty minutes." jas groaned annoyed "why do girls always need so much time getting ready?" "duh, did you see my face, jas?" "yeah I think I did, but -" and his mischievous smile was my only warning. "say cheeeese!"
