Lion's Rise

A New Era (Introduction)

  A russet brown tom with bright green eyes sits at the edge of a lake full of stars alone, listening to the soft ripples of the water. A russet-brown tom with amber eyes emerges from the bushes and approaches the brown tom. The green-eyed tom turns around and lets out a confused, but welcoming purr.

"Greetings, Alderheart" the confused tom mews as Alderheart sits next to him, "Why is it you have appeared to me"? Alderheart sighs.

"I am here to give you a prophecy, Forestwing. One that will affect all of the clans and bring about change." Forestwing's ears straighten with both interest and concern.

" What is the prophecy abou-" He is cut off as everything around him disappears, including the ground underneath him, and plunges into darkness with a surprised yelp. He is falling, surrounded by inky black darkness. Suddenly, there is a multitude of voices, all yowling in unison.

"A new era is coming to the clans," The voices yowl, "The era of The Hidden," Forestwing gasps as an image appears before him of a deer running behind a tree and disappearing out of sight. The image fades as the yowls continue, "The era of The Echo," Another image appears. This time, it is of a bat. It spreads its wings and opens its mouth. A loud, ear-piercing squeak bursts from its mouth, making Forestwing's ears ring and his head to grow dizzy. The Bat disappears and the voices, louder now, say their final words, "and the era of The Lion!" A great Lion appears before Forestwing. It's great mane shines like stars. It leaps at Forestwing, claws unsheathed and jaws wide open. An enormous, powerful roar explodes from its throat and hits Forestwing with the force of a charging monster.

Forestwing awakens with a start, breathing heavily. His fur is bristling and his claws are unsheathed. A voice whispers through a breeze, "A new era is coming. The era of The Hidden, the era of The Echo, and the era of The Lion."
