On the island of Patch. There was a family that looked nice on the inside, but inside their house held terrible secrets

Y/N POV

???: WAKE UP YOU WASTE OF AIR!

I open my eyes to see my "father" Taiyang Xiao Long

Tai: YOU GOT WORK TO DO!

Tai left my "room", which was just the attic with a tattered blanket that I call my "bed"

Y/N: *thoughts* Another day in this hell of a home

I walked down the ladder only to be meet with Yang

Yang: How are you doing slave? *kicks my leg almost breaking it*

Y/N: *grunts and walks to the kitchen*

I cooked breakfast for "them" then Ruby, the only one that cared for me is here

Ruby: Hey big bro

Y/N: Hey Rubes

Ruby then sat at the table while the others came in while I served the food...until Yang tripped me spilling food on Summer, my "mother"

Summer: You bitch!

Summer then launched me at the oven almost breaking some bones and started kicking me

Summer: This *kick* is *kick* what *kick* you *kick* get! *kick*

I spat out a bit of blood on the ground

Summer: Clean this up! *kicks and walks away*

I got up and limped towards the mop and cleaned the floor

*ding* *dong*

Tai: Go get the door!

I put up the mop and went to the door to see my "aunt" Raven with my "uncle" Qrow, who then punched and kicked me out of the way

Tai: Raven, Qrow! How are you?

Raven: It was good until I saw that mistake

Qrow: Agree

Summer: Y/N go to your room!

I went up to my room and sat on my "bed"

Y/N: *thoughts* I still wonder why they adopted me. That was mild from what I been through

I decided to look through the attic to see what might be useful to pass the time til I saw a older model of a scroll 

Y/N: Hmm, looks busted, but I can fix it. Just need a tool kit

I looked around more til I found the tool kit and started fixing the scroll and surprisingly it works!

Y/N: Ok, let's see what on

I looked through the scroll and found a news article about a ex-mercenary named Kuben Blisk, who turned into a huntsman to repay for his crimes

Ruby then entered my room and sat beside me

Ruby: What are you looking at?

Y/N: Some dude named Kuban Blisk

Ruby: Cool, I just wanted to say happy birthday!
