I met you and you made me feel home !

Jennifer's pov :

" Jennifer! " I woke up at the sound of my apartment door being knocked very loudly " Jennifer! Open the door !"

It was dad , I looked at the clock on my bedside table

2:34 am 

I ran to the door and opened it to find my father looking furious , he let himself in harshly making me stumble on my feet

" dad what's wrong ? Why are you screaming in the middle of the night ? You know very right that my neighbours hate loud noises ! " I exclaimed angrily, he had no right to come to my house like this , I respected my neighbours

" don't you dare raise your voice and I have something to tell you " He said and I suddenly became nervous , my father was always bad news

" you will be getting married with Martin "

My breath hitched , I felt numb

" what ? "

" you heard me , you will get married with Martin "

Martin was a mafia , who screamed crimes and guns , I hated him , he was known for his crimes " but dad ... he is a criminal " I said trying to make my dad realise that he is selling his daughter to a criminal , and talking about my future ,  to which he had no right to talk about no matter what " no !"

" no ? "

" Yes! No , i will not get married with Martin, you know I hate him , and I don't want to live the rest of my life with a criminal who is chased by the police , you have no right to tell me what to do-"

Slap

I was shocked , my father slapped me , i can't believe he did , tears welled up in my eyes , I fell on the couch and cried my life out , I hated this life , I hated being controlled by my father , I wanted to change it , but I couldn't, one wrong move and I'm dead

" you still have time , it will be in three months, I just wanted you to know this now so you don't ruin it later " were his last words before he left my apartment , forcefully , slapping the door after him , I wanted to shrink , and let the ground swallow me

The next morning I woke up in the couch , Luna sleeping next to my feet , thankfully today is Saturday , I have no work , I got up and headed to the shower , took a very long bath then headed out to make myself some breakfast

I spent half of the day inside , when Luna kept screaming for me I decided to take her for a walk , I didn't have to walk for long before I found the park , I found some ice cream truck so I decided to buy one for myself

Luna was playing around in the park , while I was looking in the distance , I probably looked like a homeless girl , but i didn't care because my life was about to be ruined if I get married with Martin , the thought of marriage with a criminal made me cry again

The feeling of a soft hand on my shoulder warmed me , and the hearing of a soft voice made me look up to see a man , looking at me with a worried expression
" are you okay ma'am? " He asked , his voice was soft ,  made me feel home , it's funny how a stranger makes you feel home while home who is my father makes me feel like a stranger

I didn't know what to say to him,  i just nodded , he didn't look convinced but he didn't say anything " do you want to go to hospital ? Are you hurt ? Are you okay ? " He asked again

" no .. " was all I could say , I was referring to the last part , I wasn't okay , and I didn't think I will ever be , he took my hand and started to draw circles with his thumb , I actually relaxed

I wish this can last forever

I rested my head on his shoulder " I know we are strangers but .. wanna talk about it ? "

I just nodded , and after some minutes of deep breaths I told him about my life , I felt like I could trust him , he was furious and shocked when I told him about the marriage part , and he looked like he would kill someone when I mentioned the mafia

He helped me stand up as we started walking , I didn't know where we were going but I trusted him , so I just did what he asked

" I'll take you to my home , my mother will take care of you , okay? " He looked at me for confirmation and I just nodded , i heard Luna meows and sighed again , I didn't want to lose Luna , she was my everything , after walking we made it to a house that looked so cozy and homey , I wished I had a home like this , where I'm surrounded with my family and friends who love me and protect me , after unlocking the door , we stepped in , we were greeted by a middle aged woman who seemed like his mother , we went to the living room and I sit down , I heard them murmuring and whispering before the man came and sit next to me , his mother came and hugged me " are you okay sweetie ? "

Just four words and I bursted in tears , Alexander , the man , hugged me tightly , I knew he wanted to help me , but i felt like no one can help me , I'm going to sacrifice my life and future for Father's evil work , because my sacrifice will help him to expand the business with the mafias as he stated it

But now I'm home and that's what matters .
