Chief McGinnis called out to Nancy as she was walking her dog, Togo, through the neighborhood. The police chief and other officers were surrounding Mrs. Fielder’s house with police tape and were taking pictures of a broken glass window. “What happened, Chief?” asked Nancy as she jogged up to the door. “There was a burglary not long ago,” said Chief McGinnis. “Mrs. Fielder’s jewelry was stolen along with her priceless vases. So far the team has not found any clues or fingerprints, but we did find this letter in Mrs. Fielder’s mailbox. It was not addressed to her and there is no envelope. It’s really odd, can you make anything of it?” Nancy took the written letter and read through it:
“Hello my dear! Last night’s dinner was splendid! That manicotti went well with the eggplant and endives. The seasoned tomatoes tasted ok, but I’d prefer avocado instead of tomato, next time. For tomorrow night’s dinner at 6, let’s have lettuce, the Iceberg kind, with steamed broccoli, radish, artichoke, rutabaga, and have roasted yams on the side. What do you think? I’ll see you then!”
Nancy handed the letter back to Chief McGinnis. “It looks like a typical note to a girlfriend or boyfriend, but I would recommend getting a few officers for a stake-out tomorrow night at 6pm. I know just where to catch the thieves.”
Where will the thieves meet up?
