CHAPTER TWO — SECOND BASE IS CALMING MY PANIC ATTACK

Your breathe was hitched in your throat, and the fact that you'd winded yourself on the fall down wasn't helping either. Your eyes were wide, as you tried your best to keep your jaw from going slack at the shock. Blood seeped through you nurses uniform, light shivers rocked your rib cage. A blob of ginger came rushing towards you.

"If it isn't the best nurse in the hospital." Gildarts' chuckles filled the heavy silence. Wrapping an arm around your waist he easily pulled you back onto your feet. "No one tell nurse Orlando I said that."

You easily recognised close to everyone in the small crowd of new residents, almost all of them being from the same secondary school as you, only making matters worse. Quite a few sets of eyes stayed on Gildarts' arm, which still lingered around your waist. Typical Gildarts as touchy as ever.

"I'll find some intern to blame the mess on, run along l/n before Minerva notices." Giving a small squeeze to your waist he finally releases you, ushering the residents in the opposite direction.

Not waisting another second, you slumped off back to the your nurses station. Away from the lingering stares, and hushed whispers which seemed to surround you.

The outline of your bra was noticeable, as you kept peeling your soaked uniform from your chest. The heavy scent of iron followed you through the corridors. Your favourite pair of black crocks, with flame detailing, made sickly squelching sounds.

Turning into the ICU, a very grumpy Cana and Gajeel sat at the nurses station. Gajeel's legs were kicked up onto the counter, his scowl harsher then usual, and his dark hair disheveled from the fall he took. Cana's eyebrows were furrowed, matching her squinted eyes, as she mumbled to herself flicking through her phone. The sound of my blood-soaked crocs caught their attention.

Jumping out of her chair, Cana screams. "Shit! What happened y/n, are you oka-

"It's not my blood." You sighed. With those four words their faces lit up, a complete contrast to their prior mood. Rolling your eyes you continued, "Before you ask no, there's not some great big trauma case either."

They both stood dumbstruck, the cogs turning in their brains as slow as usual. When they finally connected the dots as to why you'd be covered in blood, they both doubled over howling with laughter. Scoffing, you moved past them to go change into a new uniform before Minerva catches you.
