Eve had prepared dinner and decided to just watch some TV. She gets bored fast, surfing through channels. Nothing seem to get her attention. Just a bunch of reruns. She then decided to take a shower. So, she went up to her bedroom and undresses for a shower. She turns on some music to sing along. Turn on the heater and waited for a while as she cleanses her face first. After a few minutes, she got in the shower. In the middle of singing 'Hold Up' by Beyonce, the song suddenly stopped. She turned off the shower to check on her phone for a while. But as she was about to get her phone, the song went back on. She shrugs and gets back into the shower. Just a few seconds after that, the song stopped once again because someone was calling. She turned the water off again and answers the phone.

"Hello?" she spoke.

There was no answer. She checks the caller ID but it was an unknown number. Still confused, she speaks again. "Hello?" she said. Yet, still no answer. She ended the call but before she could get in the shower her phone rings. She answered, more frustrated, she yelled "Who is this?! This isnt funny!".

"Hey, I'm sorry. It's me Jasmine. Are you okay?"

"Jasmine?" she asked. She checks the caller ID, it was the unknown number from earlier. "Did you change your number?" Eve asked.

"Yeah. I'm sorry. I just. I don't know. I'm kinda in a bad place right now" Jasmine said.

Eve felt bad for yelling. But was more concerned by what Jasmine had mentioned. "What do you mean bad place? Are you okay? Do you need any help?" Eve worried.

"No. I. I just needed some space" Jasmine said.

"From me? Jasmine I don't get it. Are you okay?" Eve asked again.

"No. Yes. I don't know. I don't think so. I just, how's things going?" Jasmine then said.

"Things are fine. But, Jasmine. Are you sure you're okay?" Eve asked. She can't help but be bothered. Jasmine doesn't sound okay to her.

"Yeah. 100%. Uhm. Have you met Rose?" Jasmine suddenly asked.

"Yeah. Just met her just now. You know her?"

"Yeah. We've talked on the day we went to check the house. She uhm. Don't trust her."

"Why? She's been the nicest person ever since I moved here. The only nicest person in fact"

"I get that. But they aren't what they say they are" Jasmine said.

Eve didn't know what to say. Her thoughts are filled with suspicion and more curiosity with confusion. Suddenly from the other side of the phone, a loud banging was heard. Followed by a mans voice calling for Jasmine. Just like that, Jasmine hung up.

[That Night]

Eve is setting up the table while Adam is watching over Alex doing his homework. She's been thinking about Jasmine after the call. But she was more excited about her brother coming over. Alright. Books away. "Lets eat" she said.

"Yum" Adam said looking over the delicious foods on the table. Alex threw his books on the couch and said grace before Adam and Eve could shut their eyes. They spent dinner talking about how things were going. First with Alex's day at school and how he had made a new friend. Adam talked about casual business stuff and so Eve talked about her visit with the neighbors.

"I'm telling you our neighbors are crazy" Eve laughed.

"Is there any other kids my age, mom?" Alex asked.

"Actually, I didn't see any kids around here" Eve answered. She took a thought and realized there was no kid in the neighborhood. "Weirdly" she added. Then she continues her story with Rose. Not forgetting to mention Rose's mom.
