GQ Australia - Part 1

I've been in Australia for the past couple of days visiting my family. With travelling between LA and London, auditions, photoshoots and everything else that comes with the job I'm more than happy to be home with the people I love the most. Well, everyone except Hero, no matter how much time I spend with him, as soon as I have to leave, I find myself missing him, but I really needed to be home to see and talk to my parents without having to do it through a screen.

After much discussion last night, we decided to go out and have a late afternoon picnic which means I have to go to the supermarket and buy a couple of things. As soon as I parked my car my phone rings.

"Hi handsome, awake already?" It's still crazy to me how Hero and I have made it work so far. Despite the distance, the insecurities and the public eye, there's no denying he makes me the happiest, even when I'm missing him.

"Yeah, Mercy stopped by to pick up a couple of things she needed so she woke me up, part of me wanted to kill her, I don't even know what it's like to be up before noon, let alone at 9am, but I thought I might as well get up and call you, time-zones suck."

I can imagine his little pout and I can't help but tease him. "Big baby needs his beauty sleep?" I can't help the chuckle that leaves my mouth. "But I have to agree, it makes it so much harder to talk to you. I miss you."

"I miss you too love, soon enough you'll be back. What are you up to today?"

"I actually just got to the supermarket, have to buy a couple of things for a picnic that my parents and I are doing. Anything exciting happening in London today?"

"Not really, gonna spend the morning cuddling my big boy who, by the way, misses you too much, it's like he always knows when I'm talking to you. He's always next to me when we talk, and if he isn't it won't take him long to find me and doesn't leave until we hang up."

"Aw Diesel, he's the cutest. This is not fun, I miss my boys. I hate to do this but I have to run or else that picnic won't be happening today. But we can facetime later? I can't wait to see you and Diesel."

"Sure love, text me when you can and I'll call. Have fun, and give love to your family for me."

"I will, gotta go. I love you."

"I love you too, and Diesel is telling me to say he loves you as well."

After hanging up, I start looking for everything that's needed on the list. It takes me about 10 minutes and as I'm leaving something catches my eye. I usually don't stop at the magazine aisle, but I could recognize that face everywhere. I start laughing until I notice people staring at me. I guess I was being a little loud but I couldn't help it. I pick up the magazine and buy it.

When I'm back in the car I take a photo of the cover and save it before sending it. I decide to text Hero before heading back.

J: We need to talk.

I know he's gonna be pissed at me in the beginning, but I can't help but tease him a bit.

H: Everything good?

J: Yeah, it's just, I saw this guy.

H: What? What are you talking about? Love?

J: I'm sorry, it's just, he's really hot.

H: Jo, cmon, what's going on, I'm not liking this.

J: I've never seen anyone like him, I think it was love at first sight.

I expect him to answer but instead he facetimes me so I pick up, not even trying to hide my amusement.

"Jo what the fuck are you even talking about, one minute you're telling me you miss me and you love me and next you say you saw this guy and it was love at first sight? And why are you smiling like an idiot?

I grab the magazine and show it to him. "I told you, he's special, never seen anyone like him and I didn't lie, I do love him." I burst into laughter, not being able to hold it in anymore.

"Fuck Jo, if I didn't love you so much I'd kill you right now, not funny" He says as he can't contain his smile. "I didn't know that was out yet."

"I was surprised to see it out already. I remember you telling me about this photoshoot, it turned out so good." I say, genuinely.

"You think?"

"Of course Hero, it's so different but it's so good, you look incredible."

"Thanks love, no wonder you fell in love right away."

"Yeah yeah, you laugh now, but I can just imagine your face reading my texts you jealous baby."

"Fine, but don't blame me, blame how much I miss you. I can't wait to have you back in my arms."

"Soon babe, I promise. Okay, I have to go, or else my parents will be the ones killing me for taking so long."

He chuckles. "Have fun, I love you."

"I love you too."
