The little boy sat in the dim living room of the old withered house. The rain that was pouring outside hit the house harshly, scaring the little boy. He coward away in his old blue tinted blanket as he shifted closer to the big stone fireplace. The heat of the flames warmed the boy.
Soon after a knock came from the rickety front door and the boy was quick to answer it. Once he opened the door he was gone. There was no boy, no fire, no light, he just seemed to disappear into thin air.
"I swear I saw light come from this.. house." The person who knocked on the door muttered under his breath. His friend and him were taking a nightly walk through the forest which people seemed to be frightened of.
The blue hair teenager stood in front of the door and covered his mouth with his right hand. He gave a small chuckle, "must have been my imagination." He stomped his foot lightly a few times and gave a sharp turn to start walking.
He heard the creaking noise the stairs made when he walked down, careful to not trip on the large hole that resided in the bottom step. He was only a few feet away from the rotting house when he saw a tall shadow peak behind a tree.
The shadow soon yelled out a few words. "Hey! There you are dude!"
"Huh? Oh...Hey kade." He
sounded sad, but wasn't. The teenager was just disappointed that the house was proven to be nothing special like he had hoped for."Whats this place?" His friend asked.
"A old rotting house."
"What's it doing here? In the middle of the woods.Anyone live here?"
"Dont know. It was most likely abandoned or something." Both boys just stood there and watched the house. It wasn't until a bit later when the teenager who knocked on the door finally broke the silence.
"I swear I saw light come from the house."
"Same."
"What?" The teenager had expected his friend to call him crazy or say it was most likely his imagination. He didnt expect his friend to have seen the same.
"The only reason I found you was because I saw a light. Like a fireplace inside of a house was lit."
"Good to know."
"Yea. Maybe we should get back to your house now. You know how tour mom is."
"Alright."The two boys walked through the short cut that was filled with many thorns. "Why do we always go this way?" I muttered. My friend must of heard me because he was quick to defend his baby. Yes, my friend called this short cut his baby.
"Because... uhh... You just dont like it!"
"What?"
"I dont know.."
Then we were back to silence again.
