Mirio clutched Tamaki's hand as he looked down with worry at the unconscious boy. The beeping of the heart monitor and Mirio's sniffles were the only sounds in the room. Tamaki looked so peaceful, but he was so far from it, and Mirio blamed himself. "If I had gotten to him sooner, if I was there to back him up instead of allowing us to get separated, if it were me instead..." Mirio was thinking of all kinds of "if" situations. He wanted more than anything for Tamaki to be ok, to kiss him and hold him again, and see his smile. If only he had been able to stop them...

~Flashback~

Mirio punched the villain in the face, knocking her back. She lunged at him and he put his hands in front of his face, yet allowed himself to phase through her. He turned around as she fell to the ground and pinned her down before she could get up. Just as she stopped struggling, Mirio heard a painfully loud shriek. 'Tamaki...' He thought.

He jumped off the villain and ran in the direction of the scream. The villain stood up, transforming her arms to tentacles and grabbing Mirio's arms to try to slow him down. He struggled for a second before phasing through her and started sprinting. 'I have to make sure he's ok, please be ok...'

Just as Mirio came up to where Tamaki was, he saw something horrifying. Tamaki stood there, with a metal spike running up out of the ground and into his left side. He saw him and practically froze out of fear. Tamaki bit his lip, struggling to stay still with tears streaming down his face. The villain stood in front of him, his hand raised as he walked toward the pale boy. Mirio noticed and jumped straight for him. "Don't touch him!" He yelled out as he tackled the villain to the ground. He didn't even resist Mirio, just looked him straight in the eyes and raised another spike from the sulfur road beneath them. Mirio shot his head up, noticing it and scared for Tamaki. It was a good thing he did though, otherwise it would have gone right through his head.

Mirio stared down at the spike pointing at his neck. He glanced back down at the villain, who just smiled back evilly. He phased his head through the spike and faced the villain. He punched him in the face as hard as he could in an attempt to knock him out. Spikes rose from the road all around the two and the villain chuckled. "Oh, were you planning on helping your friend there?" The villain sneered at Mirio. "You can leave whenever you want, but so can I. You may be able to avoid my attacks easily, but... can he?" The villain laughed while he watched Mirio's face turn from fear and worry, to anger.

"Shut up!" Mirio shouted as he hit the villain again. He moved both his hands off the villain's wrists and grabbed him by his shirt. He pulled him up to his face, and just before he could say anything, he saw a shine of light from his right side. He looked towards it and saw Tamaki using tentacles from the calamari he had eaten that morning to bend the spikes back. "No! Tamaki, don't move!" He dropped the villain but still gripped his collar in his fists. "It's ok!" Mirio heard a shout from the left. He looked towards the voice and saw Nejire; she had been able to bend the bars apart enough that he could see her. "Get Tamaki out of here! I'll take care of this guy!" Mirio nodded and crawled out of the small space and over the spikes Tamaki bent back. He looked back towards the villain and saw Nejire running to the other side as he tried to sit up.

Mirio ran up to Tamaki and placed his hands on the shorter boy's shoulders. "Are you ok? Do you know how far in the spike is?" Tamaki looked up at the blonde with labored breathing. "It... I know it hasn't reached... my spine." "Ok, that's good, just stay still, ok? If you move around too much, it could make the wound worse." Mirio lifted his hands and looked around. Most people had already run away, but there were still a few people hiding in buildings. He walked into a shop where he saw a man and what he assumed was his daughter. "Are you alright?" He asked them. The little girl spoke up. "There was a scary man, and he tried to hurt us! He got daddy in the arm!" Miro looked at the man's arms and noticed a deep cut on his left wrist. "I need you to call an ambulance, ok? Tell them we might need multiple." The man grabbed his phone from his pocket and dialed 119. [119 is the emergency number in Japan for the fire department and ambulance services. 110 is for the police department.] They hid behind the counter and talked quietly as they watched the tan hero leave the building.

Mirio noticed 2 pro heroes that had arrived and were trying to direct the fight away from the city. He saw Nejire walk out of a building and run towards him, holding her arm. "Hey, anyone in there?" She asked him, seeming much more calm than before. "Yeah," He replied. "A girl and her dad. They're hiding and I asked them to call an ambulance." Nejire sighed, clearly relieved. "Ok, you check on Tamaki, I'm gonna look through a couple more buildings." She then walked off to a restaurant, whose sign was hanging off slightly.

Mirio walked over to Tamaki, who looked seconds away from passing out. He placed one hand on his shoulder and used the other to hold his boyfriend's hand. "Hey, it's gonna be ok. An ambulance should be here soon." The shorter boy looked up at the tall blonde then brought his head back down and rested it on the other's chest. "I'm so tired..." He trailed off, barely able to keep his eyes open. Tamaki felt his head get lifted up, and his eyes met Mirio's. "I get it, but I need you to stay awake. Can you do that?" Mirio paused. "For me?" Tamaki groaned. "Can I at least put down my head?" Mirio chuckled. "Yeah, just squeeze my hand so I know you're still here." The pale boy sighed as he rested his head against Mirio and squeezed his hand. Mirio smiled slightly but it faded as soon as he looked down towards the spike in the smaller boy's side. Tamaki's blood ran down the metal spike and dripped off of it, creating a small pool around it.

Once the two ambulances had arrived, and a few policemen with them, they immediately pulled out some stretchers and gurneys to help the injured people. The paramedics cut the spike in Tamaki's side, not wanting to risk hurting him worse by getting it out. They layed him on a gurney and rolled him into one of the ambulances. Mirio started tearing up then felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked down towards Nejire and she offered a small smile. Mirio returned it, still fighting the urge to cry. "It's ok, Mirio. We can go with him if you want!" Mirio's smile remained, but only by instinct. "I don't wanna get in the way of the paramedics." Nejire fixed her stance and looked into Mirio's eyes. "It's ok, I'm sure they'll let you. Besides, I'm gonna have to go to the hospital anyways since I broke my arm. So, why not just come with?" Mirio looked at Tamaki, laying in the ambulance, then back at Nejire. "Sure."

~End Flashback ~

Nejire opened the door, closing it behind her. "How's he doing?" She asked Mirio, obvious sadness in her voice. Her left arm was in a sling, her left ankle was bandaged up and she had a gauze patch on her right cheek. "He's ok..." Mirio paused for a second. "I hope..." His voice cracked as more tears came pouring from his eyes. Nejire walked to the other side of Tamaki, pulled up a chair, and sat down. "He's gonna be ok, Mirio. Tamki's tough, he can get through it, we just have to believe in him." Mirio looked up at her and sniffled. "Yeah, I know."

JEEEEEZ
That was way longer than I thought it would be, especially the flashback. I was intending it to be kinda long but not like, almost the whole thing long. Oops
Lemme know if y'all want more of this, I might write a part 2 of it but I probably won't make this into a whole story. (Especially since I'm hOrRiBlE at writing fight scenes, as you can clearly tell.)
Btw, updates will probably be frequent but idk cuz it's up to my brain and when it decides to think of random ideas.
Ok, bye
