CHECK OUT MY NEW STORY WILD

I wake up with a yawn. I haven't got a clue as to what to explore today. There's so much unseen, but they are unbeknown to me.

It is odd to wake up without a text from my parents, or a wake up call.

Somehow I knew they would hold me back from many experiences. But having them here was important.

I wanted to experience my first time at college with them.

On the other hand, you can't go to a college party with your parents trailing behind you as your handed a red cup.

But I won't be going to any parties. My parents would be very disappointed in me. Also they are highly disruptive. They are against campus rules. I wouldn't want to be around when the police show up.

My phone rings, and I smile. "Hello." I sit up in bed. My upper body catches the drift and I quickly pull the comforter up to my shoulders.

"Hi honey!" My mother voice rings through the phone.

She sounds better. The scratchy tone in her voice has lessened tremendously. Although she does sound ill still.

"You sound ill still." I tell her.

"We went to the doctor. Turns out it was a nasty case of influenza! What a grate!" My mother exclaims.

"When did you go?" They had just left yesterday. When could they have possibly found an opening?

"Just this morning, love." I look at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It's only eight a.m.. It's so early!

"Time zones!" My mother reminds me. "You're hours behind us! We got in- luckily early."

"Have you gotten sick at all today?" I vaguely remember my father mentioning it in a text from last night that she had in fact gotten sick.

"Yes, in the wee hours. But Dr. Turku has put me on mild antibiotics. Says I'll be good as new soon enough." I can tell she's smiling. She's always so positive, and lively. I smile too.

I yawn again. I cover my mouth and shake my head.

I did not get enough sleep last night.

"Are you tired, dear?" My father asks from the background. I must be on hands free.

"Yes. I am sorry, did I miss something, or did I zone out?" I'm being irrational. Its peculiar that I'm finding it difficult to pay attention in a phone call.

Perhaps I will take a nap.

"Yes!" He laughs. "We've been discussing your registration. We hope you don't mind, but since we had to leave on such short notice. I think we have what you want in mind. The classes and such, and the times. We will call you when everything is finalized, with the results. We can swap and change some things if you'd like."

"Sounds great, father. Thank you for that. I think I want to focus on familiarizing myself with the campus here. Not stuck writing and filling in countless pages of dull paperwork. I'm very excited to have fun." I grin. I can't wait to explore more here, and make friends.

I frown. I don't want to loose touch with my friends back home.

A door slams and the muscle in my shoulder stammers. I must get this checked out.

I'm zoned back in from laughing. "Go back to sleep, love."

I'm not sure who says it, but I yawn again, and we all laugh. "Okay, okay. I love you both."

It's repeated from both of my loving parents, and I hang up.

I'm surprised they didn't talk about my tattoo.

I decide to take their advice, and drift off, pulling the covers up to my chin and fall into a heavy sleep.
