The Day Before Graduation

I woke up excited and hype about tomorrow. I jumped in the shower and started singing along to my iHome speaker that was blaring Jealous by Nick Jonas. That came to stop when my mom banged on the door. " Hurry up! You have some special visitors downstairs!" She shouted. I was anxious to find out who it was. I got out and dressed in my long maxi dress. I tucked my twist away in a bun. When I arrived downstairs, I saw my grandparents, Jean and Yardley. I greeted them and then they started asking loads of questions.

What college are you going to?

Are any of your friends going there too?

Will you be staying close to home?

And many more. I politely answered each question. My grandma Jean then pulled out a old box from behind her and placed it on the table. "Kierra, you are now mature enough to accept and cherish the importance of this box. It is my grandmother's jewelry box. She gave it to me and now I'm giving it to you. She always told me to keep all my memories close to my heart."my grandmother explained. I heard her voice start to crack towards the end. She patted me on the shoulder and follow my mom into the kitchen to make breakfast. My grandpa Yardley looked at me with a glimmer of proudness in his green eyes. He stood up and suggested we go to my favorite restaurant. Redd's. I quickly agreed. " Jean and Jellybean! Meet us in the car now!" Yardley yelled out before exiting the house. We entered my grandparents' luxurious BMW SUV. The warm cream colored leather seats made me excited everytime I entered the car. My grandma sat upfront while my mom, brother, and I sat in the back. I sat in the far back though. It took no time at all to get to Redd's. The huge red sign, lined with flashing lights sat out front the 50s styled diner. We entered and order loads of food. In the middle of the meal, I went to use the bathroom. On my way out, Damon texted me. "I'm really excited about tomorrow" it read. I smiled while replying "I know right". When I lifted my head up I saw the last person I expected to see right now. Adrian Garner. The most popular boy in my school. His brown eyes began to smize( smile with your eyes for all who doesn't know who tyra Banks is) as my eyes met his. "Hey Kierra. I'm having a graduation party at my house tomorrow evening. How about you come and bring some people along?" he said, followed by the whitest smile I've ever seen. I was shocked he even knew my name to be honest. This is the first time we have ever talked outside of class projects. "Umm.. Sure..I guess."

"Great. Here is my number and text me if you need a picture for my contact. See you then!"

And he walked off. O. M. G. I couldn't believe he wanted me to come to his party. Let alone, save HIS NUMBER!

When we arrived back home, I rushed to Celeste's house. When I stepped inside her house onto the glossy finished mahogany floors, her cat crept from behind the couch. She proceeded to caress my ankles. I picked her up and followed Celeste down to the basement. I laid Mittens down and made room on the couch for Celeste. I told her the story about when we were at the restaurant and Adrian came up to me. I showed her the phone and Adrian's contact was up. Celeste's jaw dropped. I swore I heard Mittens gasp when I said he gave me his number. We both jumped up and freaked out. We started tossing Mittens around. Not literally. We continued to talk and then my phone vibrated. I picked up to see Adrian sent me a picture. When I opened the message, it was a picture of him with the caption"Use this for my contact". I simply replied

"Ok"

I began examining the picture. His dark brown eyes captivated me. With his gorgeous hair gently picked out. His light caramel skin made tingles rush across my body. Then my mom called me to tell me to come home. I said bye to Celeste and Mittens. I walked her casually down the street UNTIL I saw Damon. I totally forgot about him. I'm not even sure if we are together or not. Ever since he got that other "girl" pregnant, he seems to like me instead. "Kierra!" He called. I began to turn around until I felt rough, warm fingers run across my waist. Ugh. " Hi. You can't be doing this. Like aren't you still with that other trashy girl? What was her name?" I said sarcastically. "Danielle. Dani." he said, sounding offended. I glared at him and walked off. He grabbed my wrist and twirled me back around to him. Rather yet his lips. He really needs to stop. I had the blankest face ever while walking away. I entered the house and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a cheese stick and went upstairs. "Kierra! Clean your room! Jean and Yardley are staying in your room!"my mom yelled. I put down my cheese stick and cleaned up.
1 HOUR LATER

When I finished, it was around 2pm. I took my myself and Mr. cheese stick downstairs. I sat on the porch and browsed on my phone. An hour later, JJ came out the door. He smiled at me with his fruit juice rimmed lips. " Mommy saaaiddd, take meh to park" he said. I peeped in the house and saw my mom standing their with the stroller crossing her arms. I was going to do it anyway. I wiped off JJ's mouth and placed him in the stroller. I went down to the park to see almost EVERYONE, except for Damon and Celeste. Next thing I knew, Briana came running up to me. I looked past her and saw her boyfriend, Terrell sitting on the curb. I waved. I took JJ out the stroller and let him play. I caught Briana up on the last couple days. She was so shocked but, happy at the same time. I asked her why she was so happy. " Terrell and I, found an apartment! It's only like 20 minutes from here." She exclaimed. "That's great! When do you guys plan on moving?" I asked. She simply shrugged and ran back to Terrell. I turned around to watch JJ play on the swings. Not too long after, Adrian arrived at the park with his group of "friends". Then he saw me. He gave me a look like as if he knew me FOREVER.

Then he texted me" Come over here"

"No thanks" I replied

"You need to open up"

"Not really"

"Well you know what Kierra? We'll come to you."

Next thing you know, all these tall,future NBA players stood around me. This is literally the last thing I needed. "Hey Kierra." Adrian smoothly said. I stood up and he proceeded to hug me. I was stunned but, managed to get my arms up to hug him back. Then JJ ran over saying he was tired and ready to go home. I actually enjoyed being around Adrian and his friend so, to stall for time I decided to put JJ to sleep right there. Briana came over and asked me if I needed "help" putting him to sleep. I nodded and handed JJ over to her. I looked at Adrian with gleaming eyes. He stood behind me and put his hand on my shoulders and everyone continued to talk. We talked for awhile. Briana then walked over and put a sleeping JJ in the stroller."I'm taking off . See ya!"she said before walking off. I begin to push JJ's stroller when Adrian rushed beside me. "I'll walk you home. If you want." Adrian said. I shrugged in agreeance. We approached my street and Adrian decided to push the stroller. I subtly let go and allowed him to do so. When we approached my front porch he stopped and braked the stroller and turned to me. I looked up into his young deep, vibrant eyes. He cupped my face with his soft hands and stared into my eyes. His lips grazed mine, but he didn't kiss me. His lips continued to trail up my jaw line until they reached my ear. He blew in my ear and kissed it before moving his lips away. I am ON FIRE RIGHT NOW! Adrian grabbed me and gently pushed my head against his neck. I was smothered in manliness and cologne. He loosened up and allowed me to break free. "See you tomorrow...Kierra." Adrian said seductively.
