Genevieve was carefully sculpting the baby's face. She gave her big eyes and plump lips, along with a diamond-shaped face. The room was hot and dry, only illuminated by the eternal moonlight. She gave the child long, very straight hair and soft, delicate skin. Genevieve leaned over to the table next to her and began to mix the paints together. Gently grabbing the brush, she colored the clay baby deliberately. She applied a pale beige to the baby's skin to mirror her own, and her hair was painted a warm chestnut brown. Genevieve painted the eyes a light turquoise, but after looking at her for a minute, she decided to wipe off the paint and replace it with a light amber color, almost yellow. Under her left eye, a small mole was drawn. Finally, Genevieve began to tattoo the royal birthmark of the Lunemos, a black crescent moon, on the baby's left wrist. With a final kiss to the birthmark, its eyes fluttered open and began to shine bright.

"Oh my. Oh my oh my oh my. I need to think of a name for you. I think I will call you... Vanity. Yes. You are my Vanity." Genevieve said, snuggling the baby closely.

Genevieve dressed the baby in the royal birthing garments. They consisted of a navy blue dress with glowing silver frills, even frillier white socks, and a silver diamond tiara. She walked over to the huge double doors leading to the balcony coming out of her room. Outside was a crowd of people, seemingly everyone in the kingdom. Everybody was waiting for the royal baby. The looks on the faces of the people were that of awe and desperation. Genevieve lifted the baby for everyone to see.

"Vanity Moone!" she yelled out. The crowd cheered and yelled. Fireworks began lighting up the sky in celebration of yet another generation of the Moone royal family.

The staff was running around the castle trying to get everything ready. This was the first ball involving Vanity, which fully introduced her to the world and other royal families. Genevieve had made sure to send letters out to all kingdoms, even the ones that were not neccesarily allied with or on good terms with Lunemos.

Vanity was in her room looking through her telescope. She was studying the stars. She'd definitely grown up a lot. Her face was less fat and her eyes no longer took up half her face. Her hair was now also to her mid-back. Maria Elena knocked softly, to which Vanity told her to come in. Maria Elena bowed deeply.

"Your highness. Queen Genevieve would like you to meet her in her bedroom chambers. She has very important information for you, since you're now almost of school age." she said softly. Vanity sighed and followed Maria Elena to Genevieve's room. She was instantly bombarded by pastels, mostly baby blue. She sat across from her mother on a chair, and Maria Elena excused herself from the room.

"As you know, tomorrow you will be seven years old, you will be required to go to school. There's only one school you can go to, which is the School of Lunemos. You're going to meet a lot of new people and make friends. However, you are to be respected as the future queen. If the opposite occurs, send them my way. When you get there, you will be sorted into one of the factions: Lunae Lumen, for the cunning, Solis, for the brave, Pax, for the creative, and Clara, for the clever. Lunae Lumen is represented by the moon and navy blue, and I'd be very disappointed if you didn't get in. Every Moone has been one. Solis is represented by the sun and the color yellow. Pax is represented by a chrysanthemum and the color pink, and finally Clara is represented by the color purple and the star. After you get sorted, you will be given a ribbon to tie around your wrist. This will show whether you will be specializing in white or black magic. Unlike the others, though, you will be specializing in both. At the end of every year, there will be a fight between the two sides to prepare you for the real world. It is like military preparation. Understood?" she explained. Vanity nodded and hopped off the chair, walking back to her room.
