"And Baba Vanga's predictions came absolutely accurate. I was so shocked." Nadira exclaims "But now I am okay." She assures.
"Thanks for the reassurance." I chuckle "We were really worried."
"What?" she asks defensively.
"ND!" Anaita laughs pulling her chubby cheek.
It is the one thing Nadira hates and the one thing we all love to do.
Especially me. Perhaps why she swats only my hand away and not Anaita's.
"You do know that their predictions are really random and can be used conveniently in any situation, right?" I say.
"I know, but still it's so interesting that so many predictions came true."
We reach the college parking. Since the drama rehearsals are in the afternoon, I had attended the entire college today.
I saw my English teacher's face for the first time. She asked me if I was a new admission.
Nadira suddenly smirks, her hazel eyes widening with excitement. Signs that she needs some really juicy and interesting life update.
"How are things with Arjun?" she asks.
"Nothing. We talk generally. Good guy." I answer.
It had been two weeks since the production practice started. I had talked to Arjun quite a few times to really believe he is a good guy. So far, I knew that he was in a good college not far from mine, his favourite colour was green, he loved watching movies, he gorged on anything that included bread, slept and woke up really early and was super charming.
"Good guy, huh?" she smirks.
I shake my head laughing.
"Laila, text Nakul. And divide the topics of the project. Without fail. It is due this month. And don't forget to take the paper tape to the rehearsals. And please don't skip lunch before you leave home to drive to the hall." Anaita reminds me.
I smile, "Yes thanks."
It is a habit now. Whenever I have something important to do, I tell Anaita to remind me because I am always sure I will forget it. And like the sweetheart she is, she never forgets to remind me.
I call her the mother of the group for a reason. She never agrees though.
And I am not exactly sure if that's because of the Daddy joke I cracked at our sleepover or because that makes her feel old.
"Ugh! I wasn't supposed to sweat today." I groan as I suddenly feel sweat beads roll down my armpits.
"What?" Anaita asks me.
"I tried this new anti-odour roll on. It was not supposed to me make me sweat." I take it out of my bag "Or was it just supposed to make my sweat smell like jasmine and not like puke?" I wonder reading off the information.
"Jasmine?" she laughs
"It's the scent" I show it to her.
"Why is it so humid?" Nadira cries vigorously fanning herself.
"There is a rain forecast today." Anaita says.
"Again? I can't now especially after last week's storm. I was stranded." I shake my head at the memory in horror.
And 5 hours later, I realize, that Anaita might just had been right.
I stand outside the practice hall double checking the lock on the door as I hear the thunder rumbling in the sky.
