POV — Narrator.

"Wait, pause — I don't get it. You're mad at this man for ... what, being hot?" Natali asked, clearly bewildered.

"No."

"Well that's the only reason that I can take from your explanation."

"He's just so arrogant.

He's already acting like he owns the place and I just can't tolerate anymore of him." Stefani replied, squinting her eyes as she took a long sip from her steaming cappuccino.

"Maybe if you give him a chance you'll find common ground. Plus, he's an extremely attractive, successful businessman ... you should really keep him around to you know, relieve some of your very apparent tension." Natali replied, smirking as her sister frowned.

"Well if you like him that much maybe you should consider putting in an application to join the long list of women that want to join him in bed? I'll even hand it to him personally for you.

Anyway, good night. Love you!" Stefani replied, laughing as she vacated the couch before Natali could project her comeback.

Morning - 9:30 am

"And on the subject of CEO ... please advise me on the procedures to remove Mr Cooper from my company." I said, sitting forwards in my seat as I sat surrounded by the men on the board of directors.

I watched as they exchanged amused glances before someone finally decided to break the silence that was becoming increasingly uncomfortable.

"I'm afraid we do not hold the power to do that. The contracts have been signed and Mr Cooper is here to help your company reach global expansion. There is nothing we can do."

"Even if we wanted to, none of us would be able to remove him. Only he can remove himself."

"I mean ... you do know what a contract is, right, Miss Germanotta?" Adam added sarcastically, but his joke fell flat as I realised my nightmare was quickly going to become my reality.

"No, the issue is that you went behind my back and got a CEO to sign the contracts without consulting me first.

We will revisit this subject at my request. You can consider this meeting done. You are dismissed." I said, grabbing my file and exiting the room.

As I strutted my way through the empire that I had built en route to my office, I endeavoured not to allow the events that had just unfolded distract me from reaching my goal of global expansion, and turned my mind away from the fact that Bradley was still somewhere in the building.

I approached the door of my beloved office, and immediately, I felt something was wrong.

"Sarah?" I asked, frowning as I came to a halt in front of her desk. "Why are you walking around like a headless chicken?"

"I'm not!" She replied, laughing awkwardly as she slipped her arm around my waist and pulled me in the opposite direction, clearly diverting me away from my office.

"Sarah, I haven't got time for this." I said, furrowing my brows as I pulled away from Sarah's grasp and headed towards my door.

POV — Bradley.

The sound of the door opening had me casting my gaze upwards and away from the computer for the first time this morning.

"What the fu—" She said, clearly startled by my presence as she fumbled with her words and juggled the folders that had threatened to slip from her grasp.

"What are you doing in my office?" She asked, stalking towards me as she placed the files down and dropped her keys down on the desk before folding her arms over her chest.

I reciprocated her movement, smirking as I drank in her appearance.

Today she wore a red blouse, with a black leather skirt that left extremely little to the imagination. Her blouse had a generous amount of cleavage on show, and I found myself getting increasingly distracted as the fabric shifted.

It was safe to say that her outfits were borderline inappropriate to be classified as office attire, but I wasn't complaining.

"You consult me with decisions now, hence why I took it upon myself to acquire an office that I was worthy of." I said, asserting dominance as I stood up, towering over her petite frame.

I was confused as to why Stefani Germanotta wasn't falling at my feet, doing everything I wanted her to do and more.

This was going to be a challenge, and I was ready for it.
———

On return from my lunch break, I headed back towards my new office and my mind raced at the question of when I was going to see Stefani next.

Walking into the office, my gaze landed on the woman in question. She was currently bent over, picking up some sheets of paper that had apparently slipped out from her tiny grasp.

What a view.

"Where did you want me?"

"Hmm?" I questioned, turning towards her.

"Where do you want me?" She repeated.

"Oh ... have you finally decided to share the office?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at her sudden change in demeanour.

She rolled her eyes and strutted towards the second desk in the office, repeating her question once more.

Truth be told, the answer was that I wanted her laid across my desk, but I'll just keep that thought to myself.

"I have a few documents that I need you to run around to the different departments. After, these need to be sorted." I said, pointing at the various different spreadsheets on Excel.

"That's not my job." She replied, shrugging her shoulders as she sat down at her new desk area.

Ah, there she is.

"I am your boss Miss Germanotta, we are doing things my way now. Fuck whatever you were used to. I'm here, and I'm here to stay ... suck it up or you can wave goodbye to global expansion."

Silence.

"If you don't do what I've asked by the end of the day, there will be consequences." I finished, sitting down at my desk as I loosened my tie.

"Mhm, I'm sure there will be." She replied sarcastically, opening the lid of her MacBook.

This was war.
