Chapter 4

This chapter provides a little more insight on what their bonds are like, basically who had bonds and who didn't before the pack was formed.

Taehyung is currently swaddling Jeongguk like a baby. Squeezing the small torso in his large arms. He's passive aggressive in displaying his affection. Adamant on forcing his love on to Jeongguk, in the form of a harsh pressure surrounding his body; Taehyung's limbs jailing him to the sofa.

Yoongi and Jimin are trying to save Jeongguk from Taehyung's 'cave'. Managing to pry off a limb before it returns back to the same position. Eventually Namjoon helps and incredulously, they separate Jeongguk from the leach.

Namjoon advantages this moment and leads the omega to the office/library room to talk privately. They both take a seat opposite each other, across the desk. The alpha tries not to smile when Jeongguk organises the few haphazard pens and files. An unconscious habit that is extremely cute to witness.

In these kinds of situations, Jeongguk struggles to maintain eye contact and fully pay attention without fidgeting. Instead of waiting for the smaller to stop fidgeting, Namjoon decides to speak. Knowing that the omega is more likely to listen whilst organising something.

"I'm sorry." He makes sure Jeongguk heard him, if the more serious attitude to organising is anything to go by, he knows that the boy had heard.

"I sometimes forget that certain things cannot occur with you. I know it's a ridiculous excuse, but I'm still adjusting... we're still adjusting. I understand that some of us had knew each other beforehand and already had bonds before the pack was formed, but some of us hadn't met each other yet."

"Although all of us are mates and have claimed so, we still haven't actually bonded properly. Do you think you can accept my apology so we can work on learning about each other?"

Bingo.

Jeongguk is peering up at him, eyes open-wide, glistening. Nose slightly scrunched in concentration and his mouth is still. The head tilt confirms that the boy is thinking really hard, trying to not lose focus on the situation.

Then he smiles. His eyes wrinkle, his nose scrunches and his teeth stick out in the most adorable grin. It's acceptance and Namjoon treasures it. Namjoon adores him. Although they haven't known each other long, the man cannot say that he isn't smitten with the cute, little omega. 

The boy with the prettiest eyes, the cheekiest grin, the cutest pout, the softest voice, the funniest brain and the biggest heart. It's hard not to fall in love with him. The problem is, he doesn't know the boy effectively yet, the ins-and-outs of his feelings and behaviour. Namjoon has a lot to learn, but he is excited for the journey. He just has to be more attentive with the sensitive and fragile man that Jeongguk is.

Then the brunette is in his embrace. His arms draped clumsily around the smaller form. It's sweet and makes Namjoon feel warmer inside. His alpha is content with having the omega close by and smelling happy.

Jin and Namjoon are talking alone in the same room, after Jeongguk had left for cuddles from Tae.

"I'm assuming you apologised properly?"

"Yes. I deemed it necessary to explain myself and discuss how to avoid the same problem from occurring again."

"Good. Now could you explain a little to me about your own thoughts from today?"

"Well umm, I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't forget about Jeongguk's autism or how jumbled up I made the day for him, because I definitely forgot. In my head he had the same work morning routine as usual with one of you guys bringing him to work."

Jin sighs but nods. Understanding that Namjoon can be a little forgetful and clumsy at times, which is why they all set his reminders on their phones for him.

"This whole pack bond is still so new that I haven't adapted to everyone and everything yet. I still don't really know Jimin and Jeongguk like the others. Me and Hoseok hadn't met them both before, all we knew is that we're your mates and they're yours.

Jimin and Jeongguk knew each other because they attended the same schools. Tae and Ggukie used to play online and then he actually moved to their school. Yoongi had met Gguk through Tae and actually courted him. You pretty much bonded them both on site once you met them at a cafe with everyone, but me and Hoseok.

So you can understand that we haven't actually bonded with them yet. We both have grown closer to Jimin because he's very social. Jeongguk isn't. He barely spoke to us and didn't seem interested for a while. Obviously now I know why, but he's still a little outcasted in my bonding."

"*sighs* I know Joon, that's why I'm not beating you both to a pulp. I do understand, same as I still don't really know Yoongi. We used to all meet up a lot when it was just the five of us, but I never really got to spend time alone so we're kinda just friendly for now."

"Yeah I remember." Namjoon smiles as he imagines their little get-togethers. "They were a lot of fun."

"Indeed they were, indeed they were." Jin sighs dejectedly, "Hoseok is a problem right now."

"How'd you mean." The alpha looks a little confused and Jin thinks there's a little shock in there at the thought of Hoseok being difficult.

"Yeah. He was a little rude. Didn't see much problem with his actions and I'm certain he was going to say that he wouldn't care if Jeongguk was hurt to skip his class, if he hadn't of cut himself off."

Jin's eyes look lost. Like he doesn't understand why the other alpha would say that about anyone, never mind his own mate and pack member.

Namjoon looks.. angry? Flabbergasted? He's not sure what it is, but it can't be pretty for Hoseok.

"I think I'm going to talk to him, that doesn't sound like him at all."

They dismiss each other with a sigh and a hug. "Good luck Joonie."

"Mhm. Do me a favour and sort out dinner, I don't mind if it's take-out, just make sure Gguk eats before 7. I don't want to ruin his day even more."

"Will do."
