Lilah, Noah, Cedric, and Luna all sat together in the library, quietly discussing the ball. Lilah sat comfortable on Cedric's lap, her nose buried in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. Cedric chuckled at his girlfriend's engrossed expression as she read about Bowtruckles and Thunderbirds.
"So, Noah, do you have a date?" Cedric asked, playing with Delilah's hair that fell down to her waist. Noah stiffened up, nervous to talk about it around Luna.
"U-uh... no. Me, Luna, Lilah, and Fleur are gonna roll up as a squad, though." She said sheepishly. Luna chuckled. She sat next to Noah, occupying herself by taking little strands of Noah's hair and braiding them while she studied her Herbology textbook.
"Do you two have to do the Champions' dance?" Luna asked, eyes still on Noah's light brown hair. Cedric waited for Lilah to reply, but soon realised she had been in her own world for the past hour.
"Yeah. Lilah is AWFUL at it!" He said, hoping Lilah woudln't notice.
"BULLSHIT!" Lilah bellowed, suddenly back in the library. Cedric jumped out of his skin. "You LITERALLY broke your little toe last time we practiced."
"No I didn't!" Cedric said, embarrassed.
"Ced, I had to bandage your foot up for you." She giggled, running a hand through his hair.
"...Fine." Cedric said, grumpily. Luna and Noah giggled at this.
Later that night, Noah, Luna, Fleur, and Lilah met up outside the Great Hall. Noah did simple yellow eyeshadow with some eyeliner, and had blushed cheeks and nose, with pink glossy lips. She had taken the time to draw a tiny sunflower on her cheek. She looked adorable. Lilah barely wore any makeup - she just put a small amount of foundation on (not wanting to cover her freckles), a few coats of mascara, a nude gloss, and lots of highlight so she looked glowy. Lilah never enjoyed wearing a lot of makeup - she really preferred the feeling of her own skin.
"Uh, Luna? Where are your shoes?" Delilah asked, confused at the barefooted girl. Luna sighed.
"The nargles took them again" She replied, smiling softly. Noah and Delilah sighed, feeling bad for the girl knowing that the nargles she talked of were just her cruel peers. She didn't deserve any of the hate she received from her classmates. Silently, the twins looked at each other, taking their shoes off too, and placing them at the entrance. Luna smiled gratefully, pulling the two girls into a gentle hug.
Lilah tapped Noah on the shoulder.
"Are you ready to sing later? How you feeling?" Lilah asked. Noah took a deep breath, and nodded.
"I'm freaking out a little, but I think I'll be okay once I'm up there." Noah replied, and Lilah gave her hand a comforting squeeze. Hagrid had asked the two girls to perform a song - Madame Maxine's favourite song - so he could make a move on her. They, of course, happily obliged. And with that, the four girls turned the corner and began their descent down the stairs. They all received a few awestruck stares from people that were loitering on the steps. Sweet smiles sat pride of place on the girls' faces, and when they reached the bottom, Fleur went to greet Roger, her date. Noah and Luna joined hands, waving goodbye to Lilah, and made their way to the crowd, as instructed by McGonagall.
Lilah stood for a minute, taking in her surroundings. The whole hall was charmed and decorated to look like a winter wonderland. Her thoughts were interrupted, however, by a familiar voice.
"M'lady." She turned around to see Cedric in his dress robes, looking gorgeous as ever. His confident, charming smile disappeared as soon as she turned around. "Lilah.... WOAH." Was all he said. She giggled, self conscious.
