There once was a knight

Who stood six foot four.

Legends and tales

Of him numbered score.

When a tyrant threatened his land,

He did slay it well.

"No longer on this land,"

Said the knight, "shall you dwell."

Everyone had asked him,

"For fortune or fame?"

He gave not an answer,

He was a knight without a name.

Word spread of a monster,

So horrendous, an extravagant beast.

So large was it that

Its death would mean a feast.

This creature had slain thousands

But now could slay no more,

For the knight had left it dead

Upon its cold cave floor.

They asked, "How'd you kill that

Which no other could tame?"

He gave not an answer,

He was a knight without a name.

There came a time when

The knight sought to settle down.

For the perfect bride,

He searched all over town.

His choice was a woman

Known to be as cold as ice.

Yet with little effort,

This woman he did entice.

At his wedding they all queried,

"How'd you woo this dame?"

He gave not an answer,

He was a knight without a name.

When a time of strife

Had again filled the land,

The knight responded

With sword in hand.

But old, grey, and withered

The knight had grown.

And before long

He lay lifelessly prone.

His family and fans all waited

But the knight never came.

He died and was known only as

The Knight Without a Name.
