"Lonely afternoons call for margaritas," Raven tells herself, swiftly pushing out of her car, smiling because shes both dehydrated and ready to get in a cab at the end of the night.
As she walks into the bar, her face lights up, seeing her best bartender friend (B.B.F) Susu, waiting for her at the bar,
"Hi, hun," Susu smiles at her, waving a glass in the air,"Margaritas again or are we trying something new tonight?"
"Do I ever try anything new?" Raven responds,
"Margarita's it is," she says with her New York accent, smiling as bright as a flash light in the middle of the night. For a woman who's always around, irritable drunkards, shes quite the enthusiast.
She smiles holding my drink in the air, swinging it, as Raven prays that the alcohol doesn't get into her eyes.
"Here ya go," she smiles,
"Thank you, Susu, you perfect angel," she says taking a sip of it, then Susu turns around to tend to her other customers.Suddenly, a finger taps her shoulder softly, and she turn to see a tall, 6ft something man, smiling from ear to ear, pink lips, pink cheeks, and slightly scandalous eyes,
"Hi, I just saw you from across the room and-" he looks at her stone cold face, waiting for him to say some stupid pick up line,
"You know what never mind, I was gonna say something about how you cant resist me, but I'll just be straight forward,"
Raven smiles at him, "Oh?"
"You're really beautiful, and I was wondering if you'd like to go out,"She looks at his excited face, and then behind him at his friends who're smiling and whispering about the action he's taking right now, and then back at him, you can practically see the mix of fear and excitement in his eyes,
"I guess I could free up some time to go out," Raven fulfills his excitement,
"Great," he says almost speechless as to how that actually worked, not knowing about her current position, or about the fact that the only reason that she came to this bar in the first place is because, A. She's lonely as an only child when they're home alone, and B. She just got kicked out of her home, by her mother for reasons unspeakable, leaving her with only the choice to find a place to stay, or live in her car for a month, they then exchange numbers and set up a time for next week, and as he walks away she turns back around slightly, seeing him pump his fist, and she smiles, knowing that at least someone sees her as important for once. The next week she gets her 121st text message from him, and her heart pounds at it, as she gets dressed in her hotel room, hurrying so that she can answer quickly.
Throughout the week she found that his name was Warren Meight, and she swears shes heard that from somewhere, but she can't quite put her finger on it.
She runs to the phone seeing a message that says,"I'm outside, in the front,"
When she goes down to the front desk, walking through the hotel automatic doors, she sees him in his car, checking how he looks in his mirror,
"Dork," she smiles, slightly rolling her eyes,
She gets into his car, his smile as bright as the sun, she can feel his nervousness radiating off of him, pure joy mixed with a little self-consciousness makes up his entire look.
When they get to the restaurant, she sees the pillars and expensive looking, long wooden doors, that look like they were made for goliath himself, and the men taking the guest's coats and she just assumes from these small things that this restaurant isn't just three stars.
She looks over at him, a smile laying on his lips, the slightest turn of his cheek when he notices she's looking at him.
"How expensive is this restaurant exactly?" She whispers to him,
He looks at her, a look of surprise changing his expression completely,
"What? You don't like it?""No, it's not that, it's just it looks really expensive and I don't want to waste your money," she panics,
"Oh that," he smiles looking back at the extremely expensive restaurant before him,"I have plenty of money, so you don't have to worry about that,"
"But how much mo-"
"Don't worry about that, darling,"She feels her face turn bright red at the thought that he called her darling, the simplest thing has made her dazed by romantic thoughts, she's brought back to reality by the man taking off her coat, and later on after their meal she kisses him goodbye on the cheek, leaving him with the same thoughts she had.
Later on that night she researchs how much money it would cost to have a meal at, Le Jardin, the place where they dined that night, and to her surprise it was almost five grand for an average meal, her eyes widen,"When he said he had money, I didnt think he meant this much," she laughs to herself, swinging around in her chair, gleefully, "I guess I found myself a rich man,"
After a few months of talking, making things official, and eventually coming out as a couple to her friends, ( or friend, Susu), and his, he decides upon an important decision,
"MEETING YOUR PARENTS!?" She yells, to him from the kitchen of the house she rented a few months ago,
"YEAH!" he yells back, "I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE A BIG DEAL, BUT IT'S REALLY NOT!"
She walks into the front room,
"It is to me, I've never had a good experience with meeting 'the parents', and what if the streak doesn't end here?"
He turns to look at her from the black couch that's facing the TV,"Don't worry, my parents are divorced, and they barely talk to each other so they probably won't ask you any questions,"
"Oh gre-" she pauses for a second in realization, "Wait, your parents are divorced and they still live together?"
"Yeah, basically it's complicated, our house is more of what you'd call a mansion, and honestly who'd wanna move out of a mansion,"
"True," I agree with that statement, because its true, "Well when will I meet them then?"
"How about in two days,"
"Two WHAT?!"
