Unexpected Love

Chapter Three: Sweet Surprise and A Project Disaster

I exit the school after a long day of boring classes and head over to where my best friends Andrea, Lily, and Kyle are sitting. Of course Kyle is with Ryan. As you can see I don't like him. He's known for cheating on every girl he dates and then breaking his girlfriend's heart. I don't want him to do that to Kyle. She says he's changed but I don't believe it for a second.

"Hi Ally. How's it going?" Ryan says with a smirk on his face. What is he up to?

"Nothing you need to know. Plus, you probably don't even care." I say with as much sass as I can. I told you I hate this guy. A lot.

"Ally. What was that for. I guess someone's in a freaken asshole mood." Kyle snaps at me, defending her stupid boyfriend. She's giving me the look that says what is with you today. I give her the same look back.

"I could say the same to you." She has been ignoring me and ditching me for Ryan a lot. She left Andrea, Lily, and I for that guy at lunch. I basically hadn't seen her ever since History class. Is she ditching school and skipping classes?

"What's that supposed to mean?" she says with a sorta hurt expression on her face. My face softens but I quickly remember that I am mad at her.

"Like you don't know. You and Mr. Perfect should know." I say and turn to Andrea and Lily. They both have a shocked look on their faces. They weren't expecting me to stand up for us. I don't usually say anything but I can't take this anymore.

"Lily, Andrea. I'm gonna go home. See you tomorrow." and with that I turn my back and head over to my house.

I'm lying on my bed bored as heck. I finished my homework yet I am feel like I'm forgetting something. Crap! My history project. I don't even know what I'm gonna do for it. I grab the piece of paper with Cole's phone number on it and put it in my phone. I then decided to text him.

Ally- hey it's me. Wanna get started on our project?

I waited for a couple minutes until he texted back with a cute little message.

Cole- Sure Allygator. Where is ur place at? Oh and do u get it. Allygator as in alligator. Lol!

Ally- Yes I get it and here's my adress. _______⬅️[your adress]

Cole- Cool and c u in a few.

I quickly get out all my supplies for my project and sit on my bed watching Netflix, waiting for him to arrive.

After a few minutes I hear my doorbell ring. I quickly run downstairs, fix my hair, and open the door to a waiting Cole. He has his hands behind his back, probably hiding something from me, with a big grin on his face.

"Hey Cole."

"Hi Ally."

"Umm can I ask him something?" I ask him wondering what the hell is behind his back.

"Yeah sure, anything." He says with a worried look and I don't know why he would be. Why is he worried. It's just me.

"What's behind your back?" He let's out a sigh of relief for some reason then looks up at me with a mischievous grin on his face. What is he hiding?

"It's sorta a present. I know I just met you but, I don't know. I...I... I saw this and for some reason I thought of you. Here. I hope you like it." He hands me a small black box with a red ribbon on it. I quickly open it to see a beautiful music note necklace. OMG! Why did he give me this?

"Oh my god I love it! Why did you get me this?" I look at him with a big smile and I can't help but run up to him and give him a big hug. He hugs me back witch fills me with something I haven't felt in a long time, happiness.

"Well I am glad you like it and you deserve it for being.....you. Now can we go inside I'm getting a little cold." I let go of him from my big bear hug and lead him inside and upstairs to my room.

"Well here we are. This is my room. Do you want anything to eat or drink?" I ask trying to be polite.

"No I'm good. Wow you have a nice room and a nice place." He says looking around my room.

"It's nothing much but it's homey I guess." We head over to my bed and start on our project.

I'm laughing my head off on my couch with Coke right beside me. We have been like this all night. Who knew this guy was so funny. Anyways, we got half of our project done and it is already 9 o'clock. Dang we took quite a while just getting the half of it done.

"It's getting pretty late Cole. Let's call it a day okay."

"Okay, we'll see you tomorrow. I had lots of fun."

"Yeah me too." before he could even leave the room my Mom tumbles down the stairs laughing like hell. Oh god she has been drinking again.

"Ally who is this handsome man?" my mom asks while pointing towards Cole.

"It's my friend Cole. We were working on a class project."

"Ohhhh. What type of project a physical project that involves chemistry?" she asks with a giggle. Oh god she did not just say that. Damn her.

"No a history assignment actually. So what have you been doing? Getting high and drunk on crap!" I snap back at her. She is being so embarrassing. Oh god I wonder what Cole is thinking. He must be regretting coming here. Probably regretting meeting me too. I look over to him to see him with a shocked expression. He looks at me and gives me and gives me an understanding look. Wow. I wasn't expecting that.

"Don't give me sass young lady or I'll beat your sorry little ass."

"Yeah right. Go near me and I'll call the cops. Go upstairs and go to bed. Damn your so embarrassing!" She looks at me for a second with some wierd look I can't really explain then goes upstairs.

"Cole I am so sorry you had to see that. She's just...."

"In a stage that will hopefully soon pass? Yeah I get what your going through. My Dad is like that." He says finishing my sentence. Wow, he actually understands what I am going through. Good to know.

"Yeah. Exactly. Hey you should probably get going. It's really late." I say although I don't want him to leave for some reason.

"I guess so. See you tomorrow?" he looks at me for a second looking for an answer.

"Sure. I'd love to see you tomorrow." Excitement fills his eyes as I say it.

"Awesome! We'll see you tomorrow then. Bye."

"Bye." and with that he leaves as I stand there with a huge grin on my face.

I head up to my room, get in my pjs, brush my teeth, and jump into my bed. I fall asleep dreaming happy dreams about Cole.

Hey guys! I am so loving my story. What do you think about Kyle. Quite a friend she is. Oh and let's not forget Ally's mom. Depression. I think so..... And then there's Cole. He is quite understanding. But what did he mean when when he said is like her mom getting into that stuff? I guess you'll have to stay tuned to find out.

BTW, next chapter is going to be in Cole's P.O.V. That'll be fun to write.
