JIHAE

I OPENED the car door, feeling refreshed and delightful all of a sudden. Now, to find a job.

I sat in the driver's seat as I pushed the key in the ignition, Yoongi's car suddenly growling. I opened the radio before jamming out to a song I don't even know.

I drove out of the parking lot with my left hand on the window, my right hand on the steering wheel.
I know how to drive, I've driven this car many times before. We just don't have enough money to pay for the license. This is probably why getting a job is a good plan.

I was halfway through the city but then there was a slight traffic at the road. I peeked outside the window and saw police officers.

Shit, there's a checkpoint. I'm dead.

I quickly swerved to the right lane, next to the sidewalk while panicking internally.

As soon as it was my turn for them to check, I inhaled as the officer stared at me.

"You look young to be driving, kid. How old are you?" The officer interrogated.

"I'm 22 years old already." I said. I didn't know whether to see his statement as a compliment or an insult.

He looked suspiciously at me before giving out his hand. I stared at it, no idea of what I'm supposed to do.

"Your license."

Fuck.

I thought quickly of many excuses to make. Panic began rising again. Until I saw a person walking down the sidewalk. Hoping he has a driver's license, I called out for him.

"You see, uhm, my cousin left the car to me. We were currently in a fight and he left me with his uhm, car. So I had no other choice but to bring it with me." I said, walking out the car before slinging my arms around the random guy's shoulder.

"Hey, my dear cousin! I'm so so sorry for making you mad. I promise to be a nice cousin to you from now on, and I brought your car!" I told the guy, emphasizing the word 'cousin.'

The guy quickly pushed me away, but I pulled him again.

"Please, my very cool cousin!" I said loudly for the officers to hear.

"Look, these officers are looking for my non existent license and I'm in need of yours in an instant! Please! I owe you, I promise." I whispered quickly but not too fast.

The guy looked at me for a minute before sighing, I feel victory running through my veins as we walked over to the officers.

"Uh, well, yeah we fought. And I left the car. Stupid mistake. Sorry." The guy said, before picking out his license from his wallet and giving it to the officer.

"Well, don't ever drive around without a license. I'm warning your cousin right there. You'll be in serious trouble. Drive well home, kids." The officer gave the guy back his license. I peeked at the license, incase I would need that guy's help again.

Kim Taehyung.

"Hey, mister! Thanks for saving my ass back there. I owe you." I winked at the Taehyung and he just replied with a nod.

We both entered the car, it's him driving this time. Once we passed the checkpoint, he went out the car as I took over the driver's seat. I waved at him while he hailed a cab, not wanting to be seen by the police officers again.

I let out a 'phew' once I arrived home. It feels weird without Yoongi here. Even though he's always in his room.

I'll just ask him why he drunk that much soju when he wakes up.

I laid in my bed in tiredness, I didn't bother to change my clothes.

I scrolled on my phone, looking through social media to find a job. I had a few friends but I chose not to ask them for help.

My hopes were lit up when I saw a certain post. It was a hiring for café baristas. This is perfect! Not too hassle, it's just right.

I messaged the page of the café, asking when can I have the job interview or whatsoever. It replied to me that I can visit the café tomorrow, at 11:30 in the morning.

I fist-bumped the air while I stood up. I walked over to my calendar and marked tomorrow in red marker pen. I set my alarm at 10:30.

Time to be responsible.

I called over for Pizza Hut delivery, I'm in great mood for pizza. I waited for 15 minutes as I opened the TV and watch random shows on Netflix.

The doorbell rang and I knew it was the pizza guy. I grabbed a few money from my wallet and paid the pizza guy with it. I closed the door with my foot before jumping on the couch with my pizza.

This is just paradise.

After a few more hours, I threw my empty pizza box away to the trash can, and turned off the TV after. So much for the first night without Yoongi.

I laid in bed as I just stared in the ceiling. Waiting for myself to doze off to sleep. This was such a tiring day, I better get used to it for work.

I miss Yoongi already.
