CHAPTER ONE

ELLE WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET as the sun kissed her skin while her uniform dress swayed in the breeze. Elle was walking to her local paint shop which she does every morning before going off the work in the afternoon

A simple smile rested on her face as she greeted her neighbors as she passed by them, as she reached the paint store she could already feel something peculiar other than the fact, the sign on the door said the shop was closed when the door was ajar

Elle walked inside the store and closed the door behind her, she looked around and saw nothing suspicious but oddly Brenda was no where to be seen. Elle at first thought nothing of it, she figured Brenda was in a different part of the store.

Brenda is the owner paint store and when Elle was younger Brenda use to babysit her when her parents went out. Elle slowly moved through the shop, "Brenda?" She says as she start to look for the middle-age women

"Brenda?— you left the door open" she says as she looks around at her quiet surroundings

Suddenly there was a noise that made Elle turn her body the opposite way, it came from the storage room. Elle walked towards the storage before she could open the door a person jumped out in front of her

Expecting to see a 5'4 middle-aged women, there stood a 5'11 man in front of her.She screamed and jumped back, he immediately put up his hands, "I'm not gonna hurt you love" he says

"Who are you? — why are you back here and where's Brenda?" Elle stuttered to asked

"And I will explain everything" he says as he slowly puts down his hands, "My name is Klaus— I'm um—Brenda's nephew" he says

"I didn't know Brenda had family— she never talked about them"  she says

"Well— kind of had a falling out an couple years ago" he says, "oh— I'm sorry" she apologized

For couple minutes it was silent between them two, during this time Elle was taking in the gentleman's feature and she did think he was very attractive and not to mention pretty fit, "is everything okay?" he asked

"yeah— why?" She asked, "you were staring" he says

"I'm sorry— again" she says as she felt herself blush she tried to play it off without it being noticeable, she walked around the gentleman towards a closed door, "I've tried that door already— it's lock" he says

"yeah, that's because I'm the only one with a key" she says as she unlocks the door and opening it wide before walking in, she sets down her bag as well as her cardigan, she turns around to see Klaus standing in the doorway as he looks around the room that's decoratively covered in paintings

"Are these yours?" He asked as looks at the girl as she puts on her apron, "yeah" she answered as she puts a half finished painting on an easel. Klaus walks fully into the room while Elle starts to paint, his eyes bounced all over the room, looking all the different colors, patterns and emotions each painting has but then. He noticed a common occurrence with the portraits she's painted.

He turns around to see her painting, he watches as she paint over the person's face with a bold red, he watches her facial expression as she concentrate with every brush stroke she does, "why do paint over their face?" he asked
