Prologue

Isleen (POV)

"No Evans put that barbie cartoon, i want to watch that" i said to my twin brother who just played his favorite cartoon for us to watch.

"I'm not a girl to watch Barbie, I'm a man" He said while watching the TV.

"But daddy said it's my turn to pick a cartoon to watch" i protest.

"Just shut up Isleen let me watch" he turned to me angrily.

In that moment we heard sound of shouting and things getting broken from downstairs.

"They are fighting again" my brother said with sadness while looking at door of our room.

Suddenly we heard my mom's screamin, me and my brother look at each other and run out of the door to downstairs.

Mom was lying on floor, blood was running from her head, dad was standing next to her, his face was red from anger.

"Mom" i said with teary eyes, i was shaking with fear.

Dad saw us and stormed out of house.

"Mommy are you ok?" we run to our mom, while she was trying to get up.

She looked at us and tears streamed down her face, she hugged us and said "i will save you from all this, i won't let him ruin your life"

After cleaning her face and changing her clothes mom packed some of our stuff, she locked the house and made us enter the car.

"Mom where are we going?" my brother asked mom as she sat in passenger seat and started the car, completely ignoring his question.

"Mommy-" i begin to say but i got interrupted.

"Away, baby" she looked at us "Away from here"

"daddy is not coming?" Evans asked.

"No baby, it will be just us for a while"she told us giving us a little smile, her face was still stained with tears.

3 months later

After the incident that happened 3 months ago, mom took us to our aunt's house, for a while we stayed there but then mom found a new house and we moved here.

This house is not too big nor too small just perfect for a family of Three.

Like us!

"Finish your breakfasts, it's getting late for school" mom said as she sipped on her own coffee while working on her computer.

We were eating breakfast when doorbell rang. Mom got up and went to open the front Door.

"What are you doing here?" we heard our mom say to the person, we ran to door and i couldn't believe my eye, there stood my father, who looked very fresh and handsome as always.

"Lydia, listen to m-" my dad got interrupted before he could finish his sentence.

"DADDY, YOU'RE BACK" Evans screamed with joy and ran to him, he picked him up and kissed him on his cheek.

He looked at me and mentioned me over, i ran to him and hugged him as well.

"I missed you daddy, why were you away for so long?" i said

"I'm here now princess, I'm here" he answered to me and looked behind us to our mom, "Lydia can we please talk?" he added.

"Ok, but first I need to drop off Isleen and Evans to school" my mom sighed and give us our backpacks, And we begin walking to car.

I looked behind me and waved at dad,
He smiled and waved back.

I was happy dad was back.

When we reached to school, mom gave us both a kiss on cheek.

"Be good kids and listen to your teachers ok? I will see you guys at home, i love you" mom said looking at us

"Ok mommy i love you" we said in unison as we begin running towards school gates.

"Huh? You guys didn't forget anything?" mom shouted from behind us.

We looked back to her in confusion, then she pointed at her cheek, realization hit us both and we ran to her to give her a kiss on cheek.

For once i was exited to go back home to the happy family we once were.

when we got back home after school dad was still there

We were all sitting on dinning table and Evans was talking about a new game he wants with mom.

"daddy you won't leave us anymore right?" my parents were surprised by my question.

"No princess, i will stay here with you guys"he affirmed

"You won't hurt mommy like before, Right?" i asked looking at him.

A silence fell over the room, dad looked at mom but she just kept looking down.

"I-" my dad was suddenly interrupted.

"Why don't you finish your dinner sweetie so you can have some of your favorite cookies that I've made" my mom said

"YAY, COOKIES" Me and even shout in unison.

Everything seemed to be forgotten at that moment, all we could see was happiness that once my family had.

But little did i know this was just beginning of the story.
